For diners searching for Vietnamese food near the Kirby area, this spot stands out for doing the basics well: comforting noodle soups, savory rice and vermicelli dishes, fair prices, and attentive hospitality. With a 4.6 rating from 237 reviews, Pho 5Plus has built a strong local reputation among people looking for a casual, dependable place to enjoy Vietnamese flavors in Houston. Reviewers often mention the clean dining room and well-kept condiment area, which helps create a comfortable, low-stress experience whether you are stopping in for lunch, ordering takeout, or meeting up with a small group.

The menu highlights that come up again and again are the pho, chicken vermicelli, summer rolls, Vietnamese iced coffee, and especially Bun Bo Hue. Several customers describe the pho as a must-try, praising the portion size, value, and the ability to customize the bowl to taste with sauces already set on the table. That detail matters for guests who like to adjust spice, saltiness, or richness on their own. The Bun Bo Hue also earns unusually strong praise, including from a reviewer who grew up in a Vietnamese household and called it the best they have had in Houston so far. For people who enjoy classic Vietnamese comfort food, Pho 5Plus appears to focus on familiar dishes served in generous portions with flavors that appeal to both regular pho fans and newcomers.

Beyond the food itself, reviews consistently point to the service as a major reason people return. Staff members such as Rudy and owner Johnny are mentioned by name for being kind, hospitable, and genuinely attentive. That kind of direct feedback is useful for anyone deciding where to eat in Houston, Texas, because it suggests an experience that goes beyond simply getting a meal. Guests describe visits that feel smooth from start to finish, with service that is warm without being overbearing. The restaurant also seems to work well for different dining situations: singles grabbing a quick bite, couples sharing a relaxed meal, and groups looking for a place where everyone can find something satisfying.

Atmosphere is another practical strength. Customers note that the restaurant is spotless, from the tables to the floors, which reinforces a sense of care and consistency. The setting sounds simple and welcoming rather than flashy, making it a good fit for people who prioritize cleanliness, comfort, and straightforward Vietnamese cooking. I came in for lunch and had such a great experience from start to finish. The restaurant was spotless, everything looked clean and well-kept, from the tables to the floors to the condiment area. Prices were very fair for the quality and portions you get, which is always a plus. The service really stood out. Our server was so friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. I also loved how the tables already had chopsticks, sauces, and condiments ready to go such a nice touch that makes the meal feel effortless. We were able to choose our own table, which made it even more comfortable and casual. The food came out quickly, piping hot, and full of flavor, you can tell they care about freshness and presentation. The pho broth was rich and fragrant, and the portions were generous. Overall, Pho 5 Plus is the kind of place that makes you want to come back often, clean, welcoming, tasty, and affordable. Highly recommend for anyone craving a great bowl of pho in Houston! 👌🍜

Best dang pho I’ve ever had in Houston I gotta say which was odd cause I didn’t expect it to be in this area where less viet ppl live but mannnnn highly recommend and their summer rolls were good too but phew I could go on all day about their pho. Only thing is it was pretty basic nothing crazy special but also note they will give you extra bean sprouts if you ask free of charge unlike wha the menu says that extra veggies cost money if you ask only bean sprouts a little more I think they’re more lenient has

I like my Pho spicy. They have all the sauces already set on the table so I can make it how I want. Good portion size and good price. The broth could be a bit more flavorful but with the sauces on the table I was able to get it just right

Johnny the owner and Rudy were extremely hospitable and kind! Both of them provided service flawlessly. I come from a vietnamese household, and hands down I can say they have the best Bun Bo Hue (Sorry for the non aesthetically taken photo, my fiance and I just dug in) I've tasted so far in Houston! (Im from Cali) Will definitely be back to try their pho ☺️
