Sign in to reviewWe heard about this new pho restaurant that was open late until 10pm so we decided to go here for a late dinner. They have just opened a couple of weeks so they were quite empty of diners, plus it was late. They had a pho plus drink special so we decided to take advantage of that. Pho was a bit pricey at $17 but the free drinks made it worth it. We ordered a milk tea with boba and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Both were pretty good. We ordered the create your own pho for $17. I picked the raw beef slices, brisket beef, and beef meatballs. The portions were large and the broth was good. We did enjoy what we ordered. Service was good.. The older lady helping us at the beginning was very nice and friendly. Service was switched to a young man when our food was delivered. He seems new and shy.
wanted to check out this new spot for lunch. Ordered the wings since it’s probably good due to the business name. They were good, but when the bill came, there was an additional $2 for the wings flavor, lol no biggie. Also tried the Pho, decent as well but a bit pricier than the competition. The Bhan Mi S1 was good.
Easily me and my boyfriend's favorite Korean fried chicken place in SD! We both usually order a Tender Box each- Garlicky Soy for me, Devil Garlic for him. The portion sizes are always generous (the 3-4 tenders are large) and the slaw, furikake rice, and fries are delicious as well. The food here tastes way LESS oily compared to Dave's Hot Chicken. If you're looking for an alternative to Dave's and like to support small businesses, look no further. The owner of Uncle Chicken is a sweet lady and I hope Uncle Chicken continues to be a fixture in Scripps Ranch!
Absolute worst experience I've had at a "restaurant". I had my 11-year-old daughter with me. We ordered a 6 piece chicken wing for $10.99, and another six piece chicken wing with fries for $13.99. He brought the six piece out and said that the that other plate was on its way then went to tend another table. Meanwhile, my daughter and I tried the chicken wings and they were borderline rancid and not fully cooked. As he walked back to the counter from the other table, I stopped him and told him not to bother to bring the other plate because we did not like the food. He says sorry It's already made, so you have to pay for it. I told him I'm sorry that it's already made but we do not want it and I will not be paying for it. He then commenced two whining, saying that it's not fair that if I don't pay for it, the owner will make him pay for it and he can't afford it because he is poor. We went back and forth a few times to the point It was getting overwhelmingly annoying. He was constantly trying to obligate me to pay for it and telling me I can take the food to go I told him that we will not be eating it so we will not be paying for it. I told him that I would pay for the plate we already got and tasted but do not bring me the other plate because we do not want it. I tried to keep it very quiet and polite as to not alarm his other customers, but he would not relent. Finally, he brought me the receipt and decided to upcharge me $1.99 for the "salted pepper" flavoring of the wings that we had already discussed was not an upcharge and was the same regular price as the regular wings. I told him that I would not be paying the additional 2 dollars because he already explicitly stated there was no difference in price. I gave him the cash for the first order and got up to walk out the door. He starts chasing after me fussing at me. Telling me that I am no longer welcome here. And that he knew better when we walked in the door. This commotion, of course alerted his other customers to wonder what was going on. I told him that I have no desire or intention to ever return and that I will be giving him a clear review. This place does not deserve to stay in business. Absolute, terrible food, terrible attitude and terrible service.
We had the house special pho and spicy beef noodle soup and the shrimp spring rolls- it was all AMAZING!!! This is my new favorite pho restaurant in San Diego. Great service and atmosphere.
