Sign in to reviewPho Hoa has been around for decades. Located in the heart of Linda Vista, you know it's a good choice for authentic Vietnamese food. Price is lower than San Diego's average dishes. Not the most modern looking place but definitely has all the Asian decor that you cannot miss. I usually order vermicelli chicken but it's not offered at this restaurant. So, I resort to my second choice, Pho beef soup. The taste is delicious but temperature wise, not so good. The soup has yet to arrive at my table extremely steaming hot, like most hot soup should. Maybe one day, I'll need to let the server know. Oh, and cash only. Bummer. I would still recommend this restuarant 👍🏼
04-07-2025 Ordered: -#3 Pho $12.25 -#19 Seafood soup $13.95 My dear friend and I both enjoyed what we ordered. The broth was quite tasty. Normally, the basil was fresh however today it was not. Service: 4/5 Our server didn’t speak English much but she was pleasant and had a beautiful smile. We enjoyed our interactions with her. Looking forward to coming back here again!
It has only Pho menus, no other side dishes. When you order the menu, it comes out real fast. Fresh broth, tasty pho, fresh basil. Price is very reasonable. We ordered Pho no. 1(X L bowl), it was $14.00. If you use a credit card, they charge a processing fee, so we paid cash. This is one of my favorite Pho restaurants in San Diego. The only down part is communication; the servers seem to not understand English well, so if you ask something, there is big chances they bring some other things or miss. *We were with my service dog in a stroller, they welcomed.
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the dining experience I had at your establishment recently. My order of rice with BBQ turned out to be the most unpleasant Vietnamese dish I have ever tasted. The photos I have taken speak volumes about the poor quality of the food. Upon receiving my order, it was evident that the BBQ meat served was old and had a rancid, oily smell, indicating that it had been stored for a prolonged period. My companion and I requested an exchange, but we were only provided with a replacement of the meat. Unfortunately, even with the fresh meat, we found the dish to be inedible, leading to a waste of our resources and a significant disappointment in the level of service provided. The overall experience was further marred by the subpar service we received, which I can only describe as terrible and unprofessional. Based on this unfortunate encounter, I cannot in good conscience recommend your establishment or leave a positive review. I trust that you will take this feedback seriously and address the issues we have raised to ensure that other patrons do not have to endure a similar experience in the future.
The soup base was good and the portion is fair. Also ordered the Vietnamese coffee, and it comes with a thermal bottle to make sure you have enough hot water for the coffee. The staff is super attentive and polite. We stayed for around 2 hours while the staff kept an eye on us and came by to see if we need water refills.
