The star of the menu is undoubtedly the pho. Long-time patrons describe the broth as deeply savory, balanced carefully so that it is neither too salty nor too sweet. Some reviewers even compare it favorably to the legendary pho shops in Westminster, California—a high compliment in the Vietnamese food community. Whether you prefer rare steak, brisket, or a combination bowl, the broth quality remains consistently excellent. Beyond pho, the restaurant offers popular dishes like com tam suon nuong, a broken rice plate featuring a pork chop that customers praise for being tender, juicy, and never overcooked. The portions are satisfying and the flavors are well-executed, making each visit feel like good value for the price.

One of the things that keeps people coming back is the service. Customers regularly describe the staff as friendly, kind, and attentive. Whether you are dining solo during a lunch break or bringing a group of coworkers for a quick meal, the atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious. The restaurant has been a part of the community for over fifteen years, and that longevity shows in the warmth with which regulars are treated. It is the kind of place where the staff recognizes returning faces and the pace of service matches the casual, comfortable vibe of the dining room.

Express means fast - and the plate of food did arrive fast. Unfortunately it was a mix. The broth was piping hot, which is excellent - yet that is simply broth. The rice and filet mignon (where I was served skirt steak) were lukewarm. Flavors and presentation were present, but the temperature of steamed rice should be 'steaming' not dried out and sitting for a while. The two slices of cucumber were cold enough to enjoy. Canned cola was okay - point being, the beef and rice plate did not make the mark. I do not think I will return, especially since I waited over 20 minutes for the check. Perhaps it is customary to go to the register instead of receiving a ticket. Overall, this place may be simply best for hot soup only.

I'm Vietnamese and can be picky, if I'm going to spend money on eating out it has to be good! After much review, I chose this place and glad I did! The pho here was very flavorful and reasonably priced. The service was kind and fast. So glad we found this hidden gem in Escondido! I loved the location and the interior of the restaurant, makes for a comfortable experience. We had the pho, spring rolls, and filet mignon (bo luc lac) and iced coffee. Everything was so good!

We were going to Hoorahs for brunch but they were packed so we stopped in here instead. I'm glad we did because it was good Vietnamese food! I really like my com tam suong nuong. The pork chop was tender and juicy. Not dry and overcooked at all. My friend liked her pho too.

We’ve been coming here for like 15 years. The pho broth is one of the best: deeply savory but not too salty or sweet. It could rival some of the more popular Westminster spots. I’d say this pho is a step above any of those pho franchises like Kevin’s Noodle House or Pho Lee Hoa Phat. Service is always quick, efficient and with a smile. Bonus: they’re open on Christmas until 3pm!
