If you are looking for a dependable Vietnamese restaurant in Oakland, CA, Pho King RESTAURANT is a name many locals already know. Located at 207 E 18th St in the heart of Oakland, this longtime neighborhood spot has built a steady following with a 4.3 rating across hundreds of reviews. Guests often mention that the dining room feels more spacious than expected, with outdoor seating available and a layout that makes it easy to settle in for a casual meal. For diners who want a familiar place for Vietnamese comfort food in Oakland, Pho King RESTAURANT stands out as an accessible, straightforward choice.

As the name suggests, pho is a central reason people come here, and regulars frequently describe it as consistently good over the years. Beyond pho, customers also point to the rice plates and vermicelli dishes as reliable favorites, with portions that feel generous and satisfying. Reviews specifically praise the vermicelli bowl and note that the menu offers enough variety for different cravings, whether you are in the mood for soup, grilled meats over rice, or a lighter noodle dish. Some customers have also ordered bun cha Ha Noi and other takeout items, showing that Pho King RESTAURANT serves both dine-in regulars and people picking up a quick meal in Oakland, California.

The overall atmosphere seems to be one of ease and practicality rather than trendiness, which is often exactly what people want from a neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant. Diners have commented on quick seating when it is not crowded, and the restaurant’s roomy setting can make it a comfortable option for families, small groups, or anyone who wants a relaxed meal without much fuss. One longtime customer shared that they had been coming for more than a decade with family, which says a lot about the place’s role in the community. There are also mentions of convenient parking, a small but meaningful detail for anyone driving around Oakland and trying to choose where to eat.

Like many busy local restaurants, experiences can vary, especially with takeout. A few reviews mention that certain to-go orders did not meet expectations, including some grilled items that arrived drier or saltier than hoped. At the same time, the broader pattern in customer feedback points to solid dine-in experiences, dependable pho, and a menu that keeps people coming back. For locals and visitors searching for Pho King RESTAURANT in Oakland, this is the kind of place worth knowing for everyday Vietnamese meals: unpretentious, well-established, and especially appealing if you value hearty portions, a casual setting, and a restaurant that has earned repeat customers over time. With hours running daily from morning into the evening, it also fits easily into lunch, early dinner, or a simple comfort-food stop during the week.

Pho King, Oakland It’s been awhile since I’ve came to this location, I’ve always gone to the original location on International Blvd but that location is alot smaller. This place is pretty spacious and there was outdoor dining. The place wasn’t crowded so we got seated pretty quick. The staffs were nice and friendly. What I ordered: 42. Shrimp, Squid, Ground Pork, Fish Ball with Clear Noodles. The clear noodles were good, so was everything else. Broth was clear and flavorful. Would order again! This location used to be where Rite Aid was, IYKYK! Definitely would come back again when I’m in the area. 4/23/26- Just ordered the 22. Egg Coffee ☕️ and it was delicious! Definitely getting it again!!!

I’ve ordered “bun cha Hà Nội” togo. The pork cakes are so dry & burnt. The bbq pork slices were dried & salty as well. I haven’t been here for awhile and I think my to go experience wasn’t meet my expectations & the price has gone up too.

Not sure what happened or maybe went on a bad day. Ordered grilled beef over rice and XL pho tai chin togo. 5 thin grilled beef slices over rice and 5 raw thin slices of beef for XL pho. My dine in experience here 3 months ago was good but this is extremely discouraging me to come back for my Vietnamese food fix :/

Been going here 12+ years, since my oldest kid was in kindergarten. The pho is consistently great, along with all the rice and vermicelli dishes we've tried. Generous portions. A real gem.

Pretty good overall. I appreciated that it was easy to pull up and park here, even on a weekend. Portion sizes were solid; really loved the vermicelli bowl. The pho was solid, but might have had a bit too star anise in the seasoning for me, since it tasted a tad more licorice-y than I usually see. A sweeter broth, less complex in flavor. Still pretty good though- I loved the texture and bounciness of the banh pho, had a great chew to them.
