Sign in to reviewI recently had the pleasure of dining at PHO MAMA and was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere of the restaurant is inviting and comfortable, with a modern design and nice touches like the decorative ceiling elements and a lively, yet cozy, vibe. Now, onto the food – it was absolutely fantastic! I tried both their classic Pho and what appeared to be their Bun Bo Hue (spicy noodle soup), and both were packed with flavor. The pho broth was rich and aromatic, and the Bun Bo Hue had a wonderful depth with a nice kick, complemented perfectly by the fresh jalapeño slices and herbs. We also indulged in their crispy chicken wings, which were perfectly golden and came with a delicious sauce, making them an excellent appetizer. Another standout was the grilled short ribs over vermicelli noodles, which was a beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful dish. The ribs were tender and smoky, pairing wonderfully with the fresh noodles and spring roll. The service was attentive and the food arrived promptly. PHO MAMA truly offers a great Vietnamese dining experience. I highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic and delicious Vietnamese cuisine!
Great food and service, we went at 8:45 and they close at 9, but they happily welcomed us, took the order by 9 and didn’t rush us till we finished the dinner. Thank you!
Pho Mama on Paseo proved to be a delightful experience overall, marked by delicious Vietnamese flavors and exceptional service. The staff were the real highlight of our experience. From the moment we walked in with our baby, they were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to find us a suitable spot that provided enough space and comfort for our little one, which was greatly appreciated. We ordered their Pho, the seafood garlic noodles, and the fried chicken dish. The Pho was fantastic. The broth was rich, fragrant, and deeply flavorful – exactly what you crave in a good bowl of pho. The noodles were delicious and the seafood, equally good. Unfortunately, the fried chicken dish was the only letdown of our meal. While the flavor itself was decent, the portion size of the chicken was surprisingly small. For the price point, I had anticipated a more substantial serving. The 4 pieces of chicken we received felt meager and didn't quite align with the value offered by the other dishes. Despite this I would still return to Pho Mama given the opportunity. The quality of the Pho and the noodles were enough for me to return!
It was a nice ambiance and amazing service. Table names are local streets and plenty of space for a variety of guest sizes. I got the #1 - Combination. Lots of meat provided, but I wish the broth had a bit more flavor. The hot tea was good (a small charge), but worth it on a cold day.
Pho Mama is a fairly new restaurant in Fremont and we were excited to try out this new restaurant and was hopeful that we can add another Vietnamese restaurant to list of regular places. The decor inside is very nice and clean. The menu is all in English, no Vietnamese at all. There were no sauces on the table that normally there in a typical restaurant. I ordered the filet mignon pho and the DH ordered a Special rice plate with grilled pork, a fried egg, and egg rolls. We also ordered a side order of egg rolls and an order of papaya salad. Sauces come out after you put in your order for the pho. There you are sauces!! The papaya salad came out along with the egg rolls first. The papaya salad was presented on a woven plate and it looks beautiful, the only thing that kinda threw off the taste was the inclusion of tomato chunks served with the salad. I love tomatoes but they don’t really bring in this salad. The egg rolls were just so so, nothing special to write home about. DH’s rice place came out next. The grilled pork was nice, but the egg was unfortunately over cooked. 😞 egg roll, again was just so so. DH was half way through with his meal before I heard the manager asked the server if our table had received all of our food and the server confirmed. The server promptly took our order and moved it over to the completed pile next to the register. Here I am, no Pho, and no one came by to check on us. We had to wave someone down when we saw them serving a nearby table to ask about my pho. I wished I could say the pho was worth the wait, but it was just ok. The flavor of the broth was a little flat and lacking. Out total check came to about $80 for two people for lunch. Overall the service was just ok, I can’t say it’s bad, they just forgot about my order, it happens sometimes. But the food is just ok and its a little pricey for lunch. So we were a little disappointed.
