Sign in to reviewI really wanted to like Pho Nom because the restaurant itself is honestly very unique and beautifully designed — the atmosphere deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing overall. I’d give it about 3 stars. The beef was actually the highlight, but the soup wasn’t hot enough to properly cook it, and I ended up having a bit of a stomach ache afterward. The broth itself also had almost no flavor, which is surprising for pho. It tasted nothing like the rich pho broth you’d normally expect. Prices were not cheap either. The biggest issue was the service situation. There was only one server handling everything: taking orders, cashiering, seating guests, and cleaning tables. I don’t want to blame her personally because she was clearly overwhelmed and doing her best. But we waited around 20 minutes just to be seated — not because there were no tables available, but because empty tables hadn’t been cleaned yet. It was frustrating sitting there looking at empty seats while nobody could sit down. Overall, the experience was pretty disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Everything here was fantastic!!! We ordered the special - the Pho Nom for $26 and it was worth every penny While this bowl is more than I’m used to paying for pho - even in San Diego - the price felt worth it to me! The portion size was huge and good for 2 people to share if they were small eaters. The broth was very flavorful and the bowl came stacked with meat and noodles! The broth was different from traditional broth to me in the way that there was less of the clove and cardamom but it had a Smokey umami and soy element to it which was greatly elevated due to the exceptional chili sauce they serve with it! I want to buy the stuff! It is incredible! I am a chili sauce connoisseur and this is easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The magic that the chili sauce and broth make keep you addicted and wanting more - even when the bottom of the bowl comes. Our server James was very attentive and kind. Can’t wait to come back soon! It gets crowded so come early! Good date night spot
Great interior. Cozy but modern. Service is fast and snappy as a noodle shop should be imo; at least concerning their taking our orders. But interestingly two tables got served before us that ordered after us… Small menu but they know what they’re doing. The prices are a dollar or two higher than you’d think for similar short rib pho. The pho tastes great. Good clarity and clean beefy flavor. It’s good broth that they don’t try to cover up with an abundance of fish sauce and sugar Drinks are the only thing I find a bit too high of price. They are good but $7 is steep! The matcha is wonderfully floral and has perfect sweetness, the egg foam coffee adds a complimentary custard decadence to an already traditionally heavily flavored viet coffee in Spring rolls are just okay. To me spring rolls are only as good as the sauce since most places don’t include herbs anymore; and this sauce is just okay: some peanut and hoisin flavor but not much else. Lost a star here Wings are great! Excellent example of fusion food to me: the chile ginger gives a tangy snap to the sweet wings while the coconut ginger is cooling and satisfying with a pretty prominent coconut flavor. Well fried and sauced!
Came on a Thursday afternoon with a big family of 11 (9 adults and 2 kids)! We were lucky as it wasn’t busy so we got seated right away. Pretty decor & friendly staff. I really enjoyed my big bowl of pho although I couldn’t finish it lol. Also tried the vietnamese coffee and pomelo bloom cocktail, both delicious. I would return but most of my siblings said they would not 😂
Dined here Saturday night, and we were lucky to have found our table without any wait. Ordered a couple of phos to share, as each pho dish was huge. They poured the broth for the short rib pho, which added some entertainment value to their service. The broth was tasty, and the service was excellent! The employee who helped us at the table was very good and checked in with us many times to ensure that we enjoyed our meal even though the restaurant was crowded. The parking on site was quite rough because there are many popular restaurants in the same plaza..so we had to park elsewhere.
