Sign in to reviewThis place is like a hole in the wall with a 90’s vibe with cassette tape boxes as receipt holders. I had ordered the phofax special Which had many types of beef, including handmade meatballs. They were all tender and fresh. The bone broth was delicious! Thai tea was also tasty as it was brewed for 8 hours. There is metered street parking outside. The service was excellent. I have to say this was the best pho ever.
Garlic noodles were really good. The noodles had a great bite, and the seasoning was well balanced. It’s my favorite here. Fried rice was also decent and felt like a proper Vietnamese style. Pho was too salty and tasted different from usual. I asked them to remake it, but it was still too salty. It felt like something went wrong in the kitchen. The service was good, and the other food was solid, so it wasn’t a bad experience.
Absolutely blown away by this spot in the Fairfax/West Los Angeles area. The pho broth alone deserves an award — rich, deeply seasoned, perfectly balanced, and packed with flavor from the very first sip to the last. You can immediately tell everything is made with care and authenticity. The meat portions are beyond generous, honestly more than most pho restaurants would ever give you, and the quality is incredible. The meatballs taste handmade and fresh, not processed like most places. Even the chili oil is made fresh in-house and adds the perfect kick without overpowering the broth. The noodles were cooked exactly right — not too soft, not too firm — just perfect. Every single ingredient worked together to create one of the best flavor profiles I’ve had in a very long time. On top of all that, the service was top tier. Friendly, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of their customers. I honestly don’t understand why there isn’t a line wrapped around the building waiting to get in here. It’s refreshing to know I no longer have to drive all the way to Koreatown just to get high-quality pho. This place is truly special. Above five stars across the board. 10/10 and I would recommend it to absolutely anybody looking for incredible Vietnamese food.
This was my first time visiting this Vietnamese restaurant. To be honest, my wife chose it; I didn't know it before. There's no parking, so we had to park on the street next door, thankfully it was free. The restaurant itself is unassuming, looking quite simple from the outside, but it felt clean. We tried their Egg Roll, Phofax Special, and Shrimp Garlic Noodles. The Phofax was okay, but my son said it had more meat than noodles, and unfortunately, the soup wasn't hot enough—a big mistake. My shrimp fried noodles were tasty, but a bit too oily, making them greasy. The Egg Roll was alright, but for some reason, the outer layer softened quickly, so we had to eat it fast. The Thai milk tea was amazing—it tasted fantastic, probably the best I've had in LA. The sweetness was just right, and most importantly, there was no bitterness at all, which is quite rare. The restaurant must have carefully selected suitable tea leaves! The restaurant was crowded, with many families with children, suggesting it's a friendly place.
I’m Vietnamese. This place is amazing. No cap. It’s chill. The team is friendly, thoughtful and professional. The vibe of the place is lively and fun. The branding, the shirts, are so good.
