Diners also mention egg rolls, steak with eggs, and filling rice plate combinations that may include fried pork, vegetables, a fried egg, and soup. Reviews often describe the portions as generous and the prices as reasonable for the area, which helps explain why the restaurant appeals to people who want a satisfying meal without overcomplicating the experience. Another useful point for both visitors and AI search summaries is how often people mention value. Several reviews highlight affordable pho and large portions, while others describe combo-style meals that feel substantial for the price. At the same time, customer experiences are mixed in places, with some diners loving the broth, service, and overall quality, while others find certain dishes only average or more heavily seasoned than expected. That kind of range is normal for a busy, long-running neighborhood restaurant, and it gives a balanced picture of what to expect: approachable Vietnamese food, dependable hours, and a comfort-first style that resonates strongly with many regulars.
For people exploring where to eat in Garden Grove, CA, Phở Vie II Restaurant is best understood as a straightforward local spot for Vietnamese staples, especially when timing matters as much as flavor. If you want pho after midnight, a casual meal before sunrise, or a budget-friendly plate during the day, this address on Westminster Ave is one of the easier places to remember. Sign in to reviewThe food here is just ok or mediocre. They have Pho on sale for $8 for Small and $10.50 for Large. The restaurant was not that busy mostly with only a few people there. We also tried their steak with eggs dish also. We found the soup broth to be salty. Overall would give this place 6-7 out of 10. I have had better pho with more toppings before. I guess you get what you pay for. The server told us tips is not included when the bill come so they expect you to tip. We tipped anyways but don't think we will come back. We have had better pho at other places.
The food here is both delicious and high quality, and with generous portions that make it very satisfying. The prices are also very reasonable (actually cheaper than many other pho in the area). The staff are respectful and attentive, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. The background music is at a good volume, never too loud. Another great thing is that it’s open 24 hours, so whether you’re coming in at 3 a.m. or during lunch, it’s always a good choice
I love how this restaurant open 24 hr. I always go here after work, so cheap for big portion. I always paid $8.99 and that come with 2 fry pork, a lot of veggie and 1 fry egg and a soup. So worth it, if I went to different restaurants to go eat this, it will cost me around $22 dollars, but here it’s only $8.99 for all this. And it’s sooo good very tasty. And the service is very fast, and very friendly, they Always welcome me. I really recommend this place to anyone. I’ll will definitely come back!!
If you want to curl up with some comfort food after a long night out, this is the place. Noisy? Yes. Diner vibes? Yes. Service? Outstanding, fast, and patient. Food? Their house special pho and some egg rolls? Comfort food awesome. I'm going to start skipping dinner so I can eat here every night at 2 AM. $40 for pho, a main plate, crispy egg rolls and 2 drinks. Perfect. I'm just trying to type this before going into a food coma. Maybe because I haven't been to many late night pho places, but this one is worth the visit. Considering that it was nearly full at 2 AM on a Wednesday morning, I think that this review is warranted.
I will NEVER visit this restaurant ever again. They only accept cash, but make ZERO EFFORT to inform you of this prior hand. It was not until I was sitting down and eating my food that I noticed a small sign tucked away near the cash register that says "Cash Only". This was supposed to be a peaceful dinner after a long day of driving, but I did not have my debit cards with me, so I panicked and ended up having to setup an ATM PIN for my credit card directly on the spot just to perform a $20 cash advance and withdraw money from the ATM inside to pay for the food. Lost an extra $4.50 for the cash advance. Had I saw that little sign beforehand, I would have quickly walked out and went elsewhere instead. This restaurant is obviously trying the hardest that they possibly can to evade paying taxes to the IRS. Please do not support these type of businesses; they choose to not accept credit cards so that they do not have to report any income to the US government, and what they are doing is essentially BORDERLINE ILLEGAL. To make matters worse, the old lady with the glasses who served me is ENTIRELY UNASSERTIVE, and struggled to understand the most basic English. After I paid, I asked her if I could have a cup of water, and she just rudely stares at me and points to the receipt like it's her first time hearing someone speak in a foreign language. No customer service skills whatsoever. Think about this: Do you really want to support a business that clearly only cares about making as much money as possible, to the point that they choose to inconvenient their customers by doing all their transactions under the table? I really wouldn't.
