Portland Closeout is a gift shop at 2107 NE 82nd Ave in Portland, Oregon, with a broad mix of cultural, household, and everyday finds. Customer reviews describe a store with an unusually varied selection, from Asian-inspired decor and shrine accessories to practical items for home, school, and personal use. Rather than a narrowly focused gift boutique, it feels more like a place to browse and see what catches your eye. Visitors mention affordable prices and helpful service, making it a useful stop when you want to explore several kinds of merchandise in one visit.
A standout item mentioned by a customer is a Buddha lamp available in two music versions, Chinese and Vietnamese, and in several colors. Reviews also mention statues, bamboo, shrine items, and accessories connected with Asian cultures and Eastern Asian holidays. The selection extends beyond gifts: shoppers have noted pots and pans, school supplies, hair accessories, household goods, shoes, and blankets. Stock may vary, so the best approach is to visit with an open mind and ask the staff about options. One customer looking for a queen-size blanket appreciated being shown several choices and finding a good price.
The atmosphere is described as distinctive, densely stocked, and reminiscent to one reviewer of shops in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. There is plenty to look through, which is part of the appeal for shoppers who enjoy discovering unexpected items at a neighborhood store. The packed layout can make moving around more difficult, however; one wheelchair user said the aisles were challenging to navigate, while also praising staff for bringing selections over to help. If you have specific accessibility needs, contacting the shop before visiting may help you plan.
Portland Closeout may suit people looking for culturally specific decor, a small gift, household basics, or an affordable item they did not expect to find. It can also be a practical browse for families and anyone interested in Asian-inspired merchandise. The shop is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; it is closed Wednesday. Its 4.4-star rating across 55 reviews reflects a range of customer experiences, with reviewers calling out both the variety and the helpful staff. Love this place! You can find anything here. This store reminds me of stores we had in Chinatown in Philadelphia. A little of everything you need and super cheap. If you're of Asian descent or celebrate Eastern Asain holidays the store has about every kind of shrine and accessory. If you're a kid or family on a budget looking for home goods, stop here first. We buy sandals here because we don't wear shoes in the house. And sometimes you don't want to put shoes on just to get the mail. We also like the various cooking materials they have at way cheaper prices. Don't forget there's 2 buildings. The second building is full of clothes and other decorative stuff. Clothes for babies, kids, adults, you name it. I hope this place is a permanent Portland fixture!
Crowded with so much stuff that it was hard to get around with my wheel chair. The staff was helpful and brought several selections for me to make my choice. Got a great price on a queen size blanket. I will be back!
