Portland International Airport

Beautiful airport! I love all of the natural wood, live plants, and huge windows near Concourse D that offer great views of planes arriving and departing on the runway. A pianist was even performing soothing music as we deplaned at Gate D5—gotta love it! The airport is large but very well laid out and easy to navigate. The light rail system, TriMet MAX, connects directly to the airport, making it an easy and inexpensive way to get to downtown and other parts of the city. The rental car area is also connected to the airport, so there’s no need to take a shuttle. I’ve been to tons of airports, and I have to say, PDX is definitely one of my favorites.

A smooth late-night arrival, the kind every traveler hopes for. Portland International Airport made a great first impression, even during a late-night arrival. The terminal looked clean, modern, and easy to navigate, with plenty of artwork and local character throughout. Our bags came out quickly, which was especially appreciated after a long travel day. Having the rental car center on-site was a major advantage. No shuttle journey through the darkness was required. I rented from National and found a strong selection of vehicles available, even at the late hour. A smooth arrival, quick baggage claim, and convenient rental cars—the travel force was definitely working in our favor.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Portland International Airport (PDX), and I can confidently say it is one of the finest airports I have ever experienced. The newly renovated main terminal is absolutely breathtaking. The stunning mass timber roof, abundant natural lighting, open spaces, and modern Pacific Northwest-inspired architecture create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes travelers feel comfortable and relaxed. It truly reflects the beauty and character of Oregon. The TSA officers and airport staff were outstanding throughout my visit. Everyone I interacted with was professional, courteous, patient, and genuinely helpful. They kept the security screening process organized and efficient while maintaining a friendly attitude, making what can often be a stressful part of traveling surprisingly smooth and pleasant. Another highlight of PDX is its incredible selection of local restaurants, cafés, shops, and retail stores. I especially appreciate that the airport continues Portland’s street-pricing policy, meaning travelers pay the same prices they would find outside the airport. That’s a refreshing approach that benefits both Oregon residents and visitors from around the world, allowing everyone to enjoy high-quality local food, beverages, souvenirs, and travel essentials without inflated airport prices. The airport is exceptionally clean, easy to navigate, and thoughtfully designed with comfortable seating, spacious walkways, and excellent amenities. Every detail demonstrates a commitment to providing an outstanding passenger experience. Portland International Airport is a world-class gateway to Oregon and an airport the entire region should be proud of. Whether you’re a Portland local or an international visitor, PDX offers a welcoming, efficient, and memorable travel experience from the moment you arrive. Stunning airport, honestly the most beautiful I've seen. I'm typically more fond of small airports where you can get through security and to your gate quickly, but those tend to lack the amenities and architectural features of larger ones. …

This airport has gone through so many renovations over the years to be flow, beauty and comfort of this space is exceptional now. So many local food options, natural light, art and pet friendly options if you are traveling with a companion. TSA is still working through some challenges but overall it is quick, clear and doesn’t pose to many issue. Very proud of the Portland international airport !!
