Customer feedback reflects a range of experiences. Purluxe Beauty Bar LoHi has a 4.2-star rating from 578 reviews, giving prospective visitors a substantial set of opinions to consider. Some guests describe the service as welcoming and say they have returned over an extended period without disappointment. One reviewer specifically praised a nail technician, Mia D, for her work. Other reviewers, however, report dissatisfaction with results that did not match an inspiration photo, feeling rushed, or discomfort during nail work. These differing accounts make it sensible to communicate clearly about your preferred design, timing, and any nail sensitivities before a service begins.
For a more comfortable visit, bring reference images if you have a particular look in mind and discuss what is achievable with your technician before work starts. If a nail is broken or an area feels painful, say so clearly and ask for the technique to be adjusted or paused. Reviews mention both positive interactions and concerns about service execution, so setting expectations at the beginning can help you decide whether the salon is the right fit for your needs. Pricing is another consideration: one long-time customer felt the prices, particularly for pedicures, were on the high side, while noting that this may reflect the downtown Denver area.
Located on Central Street in Denver, Purluxe Beauty Bar LoHi may suit people looking for a neighborhood nail salon with weekday and Sunday hours, as well as guests who value a welcoming interaction and want to discuss a customized look. Its customer reviews suggest that experiences can vary, especially around design expectations, pace, and comfort, so it is worth asking questions and sharing your preferences throughout the appointment. Whether you are planning a routine nail-care visit or have a specific style in mind, use the salon’s published hours to plan ahead and confirm the service details directly before you go. That practical preparation can help you make an informed choice among nail salons in Denver, CO.

I LOVE this salon!! Prices seem a little high (especially for the pedicures), but that’s probably just downtown Denver for you. I’ve been coming here for a year and a half now and have not been disappointed. The service is great and very welcoming staff. Ask for Mia D when you go, she’s incredible and so sweet!!!
I hate leaving negative reviews, but I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I brought in a clear inspiration photo and even agreed to change the design when we realized the design was more difficult than expected. Unfortunately, the final result looked nothing like the inspiration and the nail art was uneven, inconsistent, and not what I expected from a professional manicure. During the appointment I was repeatedly asked if I liked the design, but it was being cured while I was being asked, which made it difficult to speak up in the moment. After I left and inspected my nails more, I realized how unhappy I was and contacted the salon the same day to ask about them corrected. I did not receive a response back as they were closing and no follow up the next day. I paid for professional nail art and left feeling like I needed to redo the manicure myself. I’ve attached both my inspiration photo and the final result so others can decide for themselves.
Update 7/22: have tried to call the store multiple times to ask for a refund or support in "making this right" per their response on my original review and have still not received a call back. Came here yesterday and spent $130 on this gel x manicure only to feel rushed and to have my cuticles cut up in the process. Nail tech was very hasty with the dril and while some cuticles are cut up, others are messy. Likewise, polish on some nails is very thick and bumpy. The first time I came here was impeccable.. This time was very disappointing. Spending this much on a manicure for subpar service feels a little ridiculous.
Absolutely horrible experience. I repeatedly told my nail tech that one of my nails was already broken, yet he continued using the nail drill way too aggressively on it. I kept telling him that it hurt, but he continued anyway. If a customer tells you their nail is broken and hurting, the last thing you should be doing is drilling on it excessively. On top of that, he didn’t seem to understand basic nail terminology. When he asked what shape I wanted, I specifically said square oval. He just stared at me like he had no idea what I was talking about, so I literally had to point to one of my own nails that had the exact shape I wanted as an example. Somehow, I still ended up with mixed lengths and completely different shapes across my nails. Additionally he didn’t know what to do about the crack on my nail so I let him know to apply base coat of gel polish so that the nail stays intact. Lastly by the end of the service I asked for cuticle oil and lotion because my hands ate covered in dust and debris not to mention very dry from the acetone The whole experience felt rushed, careless, unprofessional, and a ripoff. I also expressed this experience with the receptionist and he told me that the best he could do was give a $1 discount for an over priced $20 soak off. As a cosmetology graduate, I understand proper nail care and know that these are not practices I would consider acceptable or professional. A nail tech should listen when a client says something hurts, especially when they are specifically pointing out that the nail is already broken. Definitely do not recommend this place. I won’t be coming back.
I was super excited to try this salon, especially since it’s only a 3 minute drive from my work and would give me another convenient option for getting my nails done during a midday break. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of what I was hoping for. I had scheduled my appointment with a male nail tech but was assigned someone else, which was a little confusing. I came in wanting to consult with a nail tech about my nail shape and whether to continue with gel or take a break and return to regular polish. Communication was difficult throughout the appointment, and I wasn’t able to have that conversation or collaborate on the look I wanted. I was hoping for fun fall colors and usually enjoy adding some detail and design to my nails, but there was no real consultation about color or style. When the polish was applied, I pointed out that the color looked like Christmas rather than fall, but nothing changed. I tried to communicate my preferences and concerns throughout the appointment, including asking whether the polish was fast-drying, but I never felt confident that I was being understood. The polish was applied so thickly and cakey that even after waiting about 25 minutes, I got in my car and, within an hour, there were indentations throughout my nails. For an $70 Luxe manicure, I expected a much better result. The experience was disappointing beyond the polish itself. I chose a Luxe manicure because I value the relaxing, pampering aspect of getting my nails done, but the water was cold, and the gloves were cold as well. I even commented on the water temperature and mentioned that the gloves are usually warm, but again, communication was difficult. Rather than feeling cared for and relaxed, I spent the appointment trying to communicate basic preferences and concerns. To his credit, the gentleman at the front desk was kind and apologetic when I explained my disappointment. He offered to have my nails redone, which I appreciated, but I didn’t have time to stay. I’m giving 2 stars because the front desk interaction was positive, but overall, this was far from the manicure experience I had hoped for. It’s especially disappointing because I was excited to find a salon so close to work where I could enjoy a little self-care during a midday break. I hope this feedback is helpful, because I would have loved for this to become a regular spot.
