One of my friends favorite restaurant for Vietnamese banh xeo so we decided to go here for dinner. It was not close to their house so it must be good. Expectations we high and this restaurant did not disappoint. We went on a weekend night and luckily there wasn't a wait even though the restaurant was busy. We were seated right away and our orders came quickly. The banh xeo was huge and the herbs were very fresh. It was delicious! We will be back if we ever crave banh xeo again.

I’ve often skipped ordering Vietnamese bánh xèo, crispy, savory crepes, since it’s something we usually make at home. But I’m glad we gave it a try here! The crepe was wonderfully crisp and flavorful, with pork, squid, and shrimp shining through. Wrapping it in rice paper with fresh vegetables and herbs was a revelation, why haven’t I done this before? Absolutely delicious. My only gripe is that the filling leaned heavily on bean sprouts, with less meat than I’d prefer. Additionally, the bún bò Huế was excellent, just what you’d hope for in a satisfying bowl. While many versions tend to have broth that’s overly heavy or too salty, theirs struck a good balance and matched my preference. As for the service, it was typical of many Asian restaurants: efficient, straightforward, and purely functional. The ambiance was pleasant, and while the service wasn’t remarkable, it did the job without issue.

Food is decent. The place is new and bright interior. Only downside is the service. I ordered the Banh xeo and I asked the server if he can get me a bigger bowl, the size of the soup bowl. The server tells me “no I can’t get you the bowl, that’s the kitchen bowl, I can’t get it”. What do you mean you can’t?? You can’t or you won’t. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Everyone has their own ways of eating banh xeo, some like to wrap it in rice paper with their veggies and dip it in the sauce. I like to throw everything into a bowl and mix it up, but the server was just adamant that the bowl he provided me was all he can do. It’s not a hard request or an unreasonable one. Review. I’ll probably will come back still, cause I do enjoy their food.

Their crepe is very crispy. Texture was good. Lots of veggies in it. Not a lot of meat inside which was a bit disappointing. The sauce was sweet which paired well with the savory crepe. The same pan was used a bit too much to make the crepe that you can taste a bit of the burnt flavor despite not looking burnt. Likely due to the residual flavor on the pan.

Banh xeo is good and crispy but for price of $19.95 for one single one is not worth that price. They also cover up the lack of proteins (pork & shrimp) with tons of veggies. Don’t get me wrong I love veggies but they only give you like 3 thin slices of pork and 3 tiny shrimp. For the price of $20 for one banh xeo I better be getting more than that! Bun Rieu was “mid” and $17: the broth lacked that authentic flavor and they also skimp on proteins here. They give you 4 small tofus, 1 crab patty, and 1 small cha (meatloaf). The banh beo chen was your regular banh beo, but not the authentic mien trung flavor The service was quick and the fish sauce was delicious to dip in. I’m not saying the food isn’t good, but there are things that could improved.
