One reviewer says Jennifer listened closely before creating a short haircut they were happy with, and that the appointment felt easy and comfortable. Another longtime client praises Hector for attentive, creative work and says they have trusted him with their hair since 2017. These experiences suggest the salon may suit clients who want to discuss a change in length, explain what they have in mind, and work with a stylist who pays attention to their direction.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Jennifer, particularly because I went into this appointment having done everything I possibly could to communicate exactly what I wanted. The day before my consultation, Jennifer texted that there had been a death in her family and she needed to reschedule. I completely understood and was rebooked for the following day. During the consultation, I showed her photos of my hair when I absolutely loved it, photos documenting previous attempts I disliked, and the exact formula and color line my previous stylist had used to achieve my ideal color. I explained my frustrations with previous attempts and repeatedly emphasized that I wanted a natural-looking red—the kind that looked so natural people used to assume it was my real hair color. A few weeks later, the day before my color appointment, Jennifer again texted that she was getting sick and needed to reschedule. We moved it another week. When I finally arrived for my color appointment, she sat me down and asked, “So, what did we talk about last time?” Apparently, she hadn’t taken notes during our consultation. I had to explain everything again and show her the photos again. I don’t even know why she asked men If I knew how to formulate my own color, I wouldn’t have needed to pay $200 for a professional. After about 2½ hours, she blow-dried part of my hair and showed me the result. It was an unnatural candy-red with burgundy tones, extremely close to one of the photos I had specifically shown her as a color I hated. I immediately told her it wasn’t right. She assured me it would become less intense after 2–3 washes. I paid $200, tipped her, and went straight home to wash it. I washed it six times. It did not improve. When I contacted her, she initially offered to see me in a week. Because my hair was atrocious and I have a professional job and am in a leadership position, I couldn’t wait that long. She eventually squeezed me in the following evening. At that appointment, she took me directly to the shampoo bowl without a cape, completely soaked me, and left me there for approximately an hour. My shirt was literally dripping wet when I got to my car around 8:30. Communication throughout the process was minimal. She blow-dried a section, showed me the color, and it looked essentially the same. She then asked to see my inspiration photo again and said that if that was what I wanted, we would have needed to start working toward it before the previous appointment. I was baffled. That was exactly what I had told her I wanted from the beginning. I had shown her the photo during the consultation, shown it again at my color appointment, and repeatedly described the same goal. She proceeded to color-correct my hair, but barely explained what she was doing. I ultimately left without having it styled because I just wanted to go home. She said she couldn’t get it 100% that day and offered to bring me back the following week to tone it and correct the spotty result. My husband was standing there when she made that offer. When I reached out to schedule the follow-up, she completely ghosted me. I ended up contacting my previous out-of-state stylist for advice. She was floored because I had photos of myself with the exact color I wanted and the exact formula that had produced it. Thankfully, she went above and beyond and found me someone who could fix it. And it was perfect on the first attempt. This wasn’t a case of me being vague about what I wanted. I brought photos, brought the previous formula, explained my history, identified colors I loved and hated, and repeatedly communicated the same goal. The final color was essentially the color I had specifically shown her as an example of what I didn’t want. Ultimately, the biggest issue was simple: I didn’t feel listened to. And after paying $200, enduring a correction appointment, and being left with unfinished/spotty color, being ghosted when I tried to schedule the follow-up made the entire experience even more disappointing.
Jennifer did such a great job on my hair! I decided to go short and I’m so happy with how it turned out. She really listened to what I wanted and made the whole experience so easy and comfortable. I love my new haircut and will definitely be going back to Jennifer! Highly recommend her! ❤️
