Rust In Peace is a car repair and maintenance service at 2732 Conti St in New Orleans, Louisiana. The shop is a local option for drivers who need practical repairs, clear communication, and help getting a vehicle back on the road. Customer reviews describe work on both everyday vehicles and older cars, including classic Ford models. That range makes Rust In Peace worth considering whether you are addressing a specific mechanical problem or working through repairs needed to make a car roadworthy and safe to drive.

Classic-car owners may find the customer experiences especially relevant. Reviewers mention a 1957 Ford Fairlane engine rebuild, repairs to a 1963 Ford F-100, and work on a Ford Falcon. One customer says owner Phil helped after a disappointing experience with another classic-car provider, while another describes a quick turnaround on an F-100. These are individual accounts, not a guarantee that every repair will follow the same timeline, but they show the kinds of older-vehicle projects customers have brought to the shop. For owners who want to keep a vintage car usable, Rust In Peace has experience reflected in those reviews.

The reported work also includes repairs for common mechanical issues. Customers mention replacing spark plugs and an ignition coil to address a cylinder misfire, checking suspension concerns, replacing a part, and cleaning part of an oil-leak area. Several reviewers highlight receiving explanations about the work, updates while repairs were underway, and reasonable estimates or prices. One customer says the shop showed them that suspension components were sturdy rather than recommending unnecessary repairs. These accounts point to a straightforward, communicative approach that may suit drivers who want to understand what their vehicle needs before deciding how to proceed.

With a 5-star rating from 44 reviews, Rust In Peace is reviewed positively by customers who value attentive service, fair pricing, and follow-through. It may be a good fit for classic-car owners, drivers seeking help with a misfire or other repair, and people looking for a local mechanic who will talk through the work. The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed Sunday. Located on Conti Street in New Orleans, Rust In Peace offers local drivers a place to discuss repair needs and arrange service during its posted business hours.

Philipp is straight up! He worked me out of a jam on our family 1957 Ford Fairlane engine rebuild. Initially I didn’t do the proper due diligence and got scammed bad by a so called classic car provider out of Gonzales. Luckily I found Philipp who went above and beyond as my point man and picked up the Fairlane worked with machine shop delivery of block (shoutout Darr Engine) and installed completed Y-block V8 in Fairlane. In addition, Philipp guided updates to engine updating any suspect aged parts. Picked up 1957 Ford Fairlane in NOLA and drove to family home in Bay Saint Louis. Philipp charges an hourly rate for his expertise and itemized all work professionally. Note: only work with classic car mechanics that state and charge hourly rate. No up front BS.

Just took my 63 ford F100 in for some work this week. Phil had her in and out in a day at a super reasonable price. There was great communication and the turnaround was just phenomenal. It was the first time I had someone work on one of my cars and I’ll 100% be using him for all my future work. There’s a reason he only has 5 star reviews.

Take your car here for honest and affordable repairs. I was told by a different mechanic at a bigger garage that parts of my car’s suspension were on the verge of breaking. Rust In Peace put my car up and showed me how everything was sturdy. He replaced one part and manually cleaned part of an oil leak that other mechanics had totally missed. Highly recommend!

Phil replaced my spark plugs + ignition coil fixing a cylinder 5 misfire in a couple hours. He was good communicating about everything. I will be back for more work. I recommend him to others who need a good job and reasonable price.

I took a classic Ford Falcon to Rust in Peace to make various repairs needed to make it roadworthy and safe to drive. Phil, the business owner, was professional, friendly, and gave me a very reasonable estimate on the needed work. He kept in touch with me as he was going through the list and I had the car back in a few weeks. It is running great. Phil has a lot of experience with older classic cars as he previously worked for the Bomb Factory. I can't recommend him enough.
