Saigon Babylon is a Vietnamese restaurant on the fifth floor of the Lark Hotel at 907 Main St, Cambridge, MA 02139. Its Vietnamese-inspired, fusion approach makes it a distinctive choice for dinner in Cambridge, Massachusetts, whether you are planning a relaxed meal, a date night, or a gathering with friends. Guests describe a welcoming experience from arrival through service, with staff who are friendly and attentive without interrupting the flow of the meal. Saigon Babylon has a 4.4-star rating based on 222 reviews, offering local diners a helpful snapshot of how other guests have enjoyed their visits. Hours are not listed in the available business information, so check current details before making plans.
The menu is described by diners as compact and thoughtfully selected, with dishes that feel distinctive and suited to the season. Guest favorites mentioned in reviews include steamed Manila clams, crispy duck Hai Noi Bun Vit, flounder, black cod, beef short rib, and wagyu beef carpaccio. That range gives the meal a mix of seafood, meat, and Vietnamese-inspired flavors rather than a long, all-purpose menu. Reviews praise the food as delicious, excellent, and memorable, while noting that guests can enjoy several different plates in one visit. Because the menu may change with the season, the dishes available on a particular evening may vary.
Drinks are part of the experience, too. Reviewers have called out the tamarind old fashioned and a bottle of Zweigelt rosé, describing both the food and drinks as highlights of their visit. The restaurant’s setting is another reason guests choose it: it is on the hotel’s fifth floor, and reviews mention an outdoor patio or porch as a particularly appealing place to sit. Indoor seating has also been described positively. The patio may be a good option for guests who enjoy dining outdoors, though seating preferences and availability can depend on the visit.
Saigon Babylon is a good fit for diners looking for a more considered evening out than a quick, casual meal, especially those who enjoy sharing several plates and trying Vietnamese-inspired dishes with a modern fusion sensibility. Reviews also point to attentive hospitality, making it a welcoming choice for a special dinner, a last-night meal while traveling, or drinks and food with company. Its Main Street address places it in Cambridge, and the fifth-floor location is a useful detail to keep in mind when arriving. Try and get the porch if you can, we got inside and it was great but outside looked even cuter. We did not get a bad dish. Everything was incredible!
This was a truly great dining experience, start to finish! Exactly what you crave when you are ready to spend some money on a nice dinner - everything is 100% worth it. The host was incredibly kind, and our server Brian checked in at all the right times, which I know can be hard to do! We got the fluke to start and it was perfectly light, nutty and fresh - amazing fish. I got the black cod and it was really the best piece of fish I have had in a LONG time. It was perfectly cooked and the bed of golden coconut rice and curry it came on top of was heavenly. My friend got the prime rib and sang its praises as well. We ended with the pandan soft serve and…yeah wow! Can’t wait to be back in the summer!
Lovely Vietnamese inspired meal for our last night on this New England Trip. Food and drinks were excellent as was the friendly attentive service. We really enjoyed the flounder, wagyu beef carpaccio, black cod, beef short rib, tamarind old fashioned and zaeigelt Rose. We were sat at the communal table which was really sociable and we were able to take a peek at some of the other dishes (the mushrooms and duck also looked great!). Shame we don’t live in Cambridge!
On the fifth floor of the Lark Hotel is a small Viet fusion restaurant. We sat on the outdoor patio. I think it is mostly a drinking place but the food we had was delicious. We had the steamed Manila clams, the crispy duck Hai Noi Bun Vit …
Overall I really enjoyed the food and thought that the majority of the dishes were excellent and unique. The menu was small (only 8 total dishes excluding dessert) and I was able to try half the menu (4 dishes). I thought they did a great job at selecting the right dishes for the season, as they were largely light (rather than hearty) and had very refreshing flavors. The price point is a litle higher than id typically spend for a casual dinner, but would be ok with splurging once in a while.
