Saigon One Restaurant is a Vietnamese restaurant at 1331 Dorchester Ave in Dorchester, MA 02122. It offers a neighborhood dining option for people looking for Vietnamese dishes alongside a varied menu that, according to diners, includes seafood and other familiar favorites. The restaurant has a 4.2-star rating from 303 reviews, giving local diners a useful snapshot of many customer experiences. Because feedback is mixed, the clearest picture comes from the details guests share: some praise the friendly service, reasonable prices, and enjoyable meals, while others report concerns about particular dishes and consistency.

Customer reviews mention spring rolls, fish soup, caramelized fish, orange chicken, and pork chop, as well as lobster and white clams. These specific dishes can help guests decide whether the menu suits the occasion, though reviews do not establish that every item is available at all times. One diner described a meal with spring rolls, fish soup, caramelized fish, and orange chicken as good value, noting that the rice was a little dry but the service was good. Other guests have highlighted lobster and tri-bean-colored desserts among the dishes they enjoyed. Taken together, comments suggest a menu with options for diners who want a mix of savory dishes and something sweet.

The atmosphere described by customers is welcoming and relaxed. Some reviewers say staff members are friendly and attentive, and one mentioned being offered iced tea after sitting down. Positive feedback also points to reasonable prices and helpful service, qualities that can make Saigon One a practical choice for a casual meal with family or friends. It may appeal to people exploring Vietnamese food in Dorchester, returning neighborhood diners, or groups looking for a restaurant with several kinds of dishes to consider. Customer experiences differ, so expectations are best guided by the specific menu choices and the latest information available from the restaurant.

There are also critical reviews, including complaints about dry lobster, soggy noodles, and clams that one customer said smelled bad; another diner described a later illness after eating clams. These are individual customer reports, not verified findings, but they are important context for anyone considering seafood. Other reviews describe positive meals, including praise for lobster, so feedback on those dishes is not uniform. For the most current details about menu availability, preparation, or hours, contact the restaurant directly; business hours were not provided in the listing information. Whether you are a Dorchester local or visiting the area, Saigon One Restaurant is a Vietnamese dining option whose reviews offer both favorable experiences and reasons to make an informed choice.

Very disappointed. Any one had fresh lobster knows the meat always comes out in one piece. But the Lobster here was dry and sticks to the shell. Add $9 for the Noodles and they were soggy! Spent $250+ and definitely wasn’t worth it. Any Chinese restaurant in Quincy is far better than here.

The clams very bad, you can even smell it very stink. They shouldn’t be serve with the dead and extremely bad food to the customer. I ordered one dozen of the white clams and 4 is bad already, we ate the 8 okay one. But after few hours I got diarrhea for 8 times, it like food poisoning. We ate there all the time, but lately this place is horrible serving bad food to their customers. We not gonna go back anymore, we don’t want food poisoning again. If you don’t want to get food poisoning, just stay away from this restaurant.

Everything I've ordered here so far has been spot on! This is a relatively new (at least in the last 10 years since I've come back to Dorchester) vietnamese restaurant. The staff are always really friendly and offer iced tea right when you get in and sit down. I ordered the salt toasted pork chop plate which was huge. The pork chops are super moist and crispy when you take a bite and the portion size is huge. The grilled chicken with rice reminded me of my childhood. The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Their salt toasted squid and soft shell crabs are great if you love seafood and calamari style dishes. Just be aware that they can be a bit spicy, so make sure you let them know if you want it mild. Adding pork chops to that dish will run you an extra $6, but it's a huge plate. I also loved their spring rolls and garlic snow pea leaves. They absolutely love up to any Chinese restaurant in quality and flavor. Their fried tofu and fixed vegetables are also solid dishes if you're going vegetarian. Overall some dishes can be a little pricey if you custard customizing dishes, but the portion sizes definitely make up for it.
