If you are exploring Vietnamese food in Charlotte or want a neighborhood restaurant for a casual meal, Saigon Palace offers a menu with several well-loved choices to consider.
Pho is one of the dishes customers mention most. Reviewers describe flavorful broth that is not overly strong or oily, generous meat, and a chili oil with a noticeable kick. Lemongrass chicken and lemongrass beef also receive praise, making them options for diners who want a savory, aromatic main dish. Spring rolls are another frequently noted choice: customers mention grilled pork and shrimp-and-pork versions, along with peanut sauce that one guest found pleasantly sweet. These are useful starting points for first-time visitors, while returning customers may already have a favorite order.
The restaurant also works for takeout. Some reviewers say their food was ready about 10–15 minutes after ordering and arrived hot and freshly prepared. Others visit to dine in and describe a nice spot with especially pleasant staff. Menu experiences can differ: one guest noted that a seafood pho order came with egg noodles rather than the rice noodles they preferred. That kind of detail is worth keeping in mind if you have a specific noodle preference; you can ask about the preparation when ordering. Reviews also include criticism of the restaurant’s worn interior and cleanliness, so feedback on the setting is mixed.

Clearly the best Vietnamese restaurant in Charlotte, and I've been to a few here. The best Pho and lemongrass chicken and lemongrass beef. Excellent shrimp and pork spring rolls. Just a delight to eat there, and Marie and her mother are beautiful souls in welcoming patrons.
Hey, just a heads up, unfortunately this restaurant is filthy dirty, really old and worn out. I mean the walls, the ceiling, the floor everything Dirty old beat down and worn out . The bathrooms look like they hadn’t been cleaned in years and some of the baseboard molding around the main restaurant and hallway leading to the bathrooms were black and rotten. Seriously , the only thing clean is the fresh coat of paint on the brick front outside. The shrimp fried rice was $15. It was 94% rice, with bits of egg, bits of canned mini carrots/peas, plus six little lame shrimp that were the size of an American penny. The other dish was tofu and mix vegetable. The food tasted like oil and salt with a little sugar and was absolutely terrible. When we walked in, there was only one table with two people sitting there eating and talking the rest of the place was empty. The three employees that were there , an old woman and two younger guys were all on their phones and could care less about us. No way we can recommend this place. It was a total waste of money.
The best, most consistent food in Charlotte. I cannot say enough about this place. When we order pick up it’s 10-15 minutes between placing the order and the food being ready, and it’s hot hot hot, fresh off the fire every single time. Whoever is back there cooking, I wish you a very long and prosperous life. You have brought our family so much comfort and joy through your cooking.
The grilled pork spring roll was good and had a lot of noodle in it. The peanut sauce was tasty, a bit sweet and on the thinner side. The med rare pho broth had a nice flavor, nothing too strong and wasn't super oily, and plenty of meat. The chili oil has a nice kick too it without overpowering the taste of the pho.
I've ordered takeout from Saigon several times, but this was my 1st time going there and dining in. Nice spot, and even nicer staff. We ordered a seafood pho which I've had before, but this one had egg noodles instead of rice noodles. I prefer the rice noodles. We also had the sesame chicken with fried rice, and beef with broccoli and fried rice. Everything was good. We also had spring rolls as an appetizer but I forgot to take a picture.
