Hair color is a clear part of the work customers mention, including appointments to go blonde and requests for bright blonde results. Reviews also point to the care involved in working with different starting points, such as dark, ashy-brown roots or hair that has been colored at home and feels damaged. One customer with naturally curly hair appreciated that her curl pattern was mostly preserved during a blonde appointment. That experience may be especially relevant if you want a color change while keeping your natural texture in mind. Results depend on each person’s hair and appointment, so a consultation is a practical way to discuss your starting point and expectations.
Customers call out individual stylists, including Megan, Carson, Jeanie, and Rachael. Their comments describe friendly conversations, thoughtful advice, and taking time to understand what a client wants. One reviewer mentions having a consultation before the service, while another says her stylist listened and helped her feel good about the result. These are personal accounts rather than guarantees, but they suggest that clear communication is an important part of the experience people value at Sand Hair Co. If you have concerns about previous color, damage, or maintaining curls, sharing those details before the appointment can help guide the conversation.
The salon’s reported hours offer several options for planning a visit: Monday 10 a.m.–7 p.m.; Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m.–10 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; and Sunday 10 a.m.–6 p.m. The later weekday closing time may suit clients who need an evening appointment, while the weekend schedule provides alternatives for those with busy weekdays. Sand Hair Co. is located on N Nebraska Avenue in Tampa, with its suite number listed as Ste 2. The salon is beautiful, and overall, I’m happy with how my hair turned out! I came in for a Model Day appointment to go blonde, and as someone with naturally curly hair, maintaining my curl integrity was extremely important to me. Thankfully, my curls were mostly left intact, which I really appreciated. I do think the toner was initially too dark for my preference, and there was a noticeable difference in color between the two sides, but the toner lightened beautifully after just two washes, and I like my hair much more now. My biggest disappointment was the lack of communication when I reached out afterward with concerns. I was genuinely panicking about the color, and even a little reassurance that the toner would fade after a couple of washes would have made a huge difference and saved me a lot of unnecessary stress. I also ended up styling my own curls because the salon styling wasn't quite what I'm used to. I believe they have a curly hair specialist, so if you have curly hair like me, I'd recommend booking with her to ensure your curls get the attention and styling expertise they need. Overall, the salon is lovely, the work was good, and I appreciate that my curl integrity was mostly preserved!
I really wanted to love this experience because the stylists working there were so sweet and kind. It was my first time getting my hair done here although I did have a consultation before my appointment with the stylist Rachael and proceeded to get my hair done with her. The salon environment was welcoming, and I went in specifically to get rid of some brassiness in my color, touch up my balayage, get some foil balayage/blonding, and have my 2 row 20-inch extensions moved up. She quoted me $750 for a 2 row move up and veil blonding. Right when I left the chair, my hair looked good the initial styling was nice although it was a bit rushed and done by the assistant Nadia. I was content with the way it looked and hoped it would continue to look that way. Unfortunately, that hope completely vanished the very first time I went home to wash it. As soon as the water hit my hair, I experienced tons of fallout with clumps of hair shedding out, along with strange white flakes everywhere (which I’m assuming might be from chemical damage or a bad reaction to the bleach). I could also smell the bleach as the water was running through my hair. It’s not like I used bad products either as I used the kerastase chroma absolu Bain chroma respect shampoo and conditioner. To dry my hair I used the color wow spray and a Dyson. When I was drying my hair I continued to notice these white chunky flakes that I have never experienced before. Beyond the texture and breakage issues, the color results completely fell apart: The Blending & Application: Instead of a seamless color melt from the touch-up and foil blonding, the application looks like a harsh, completely straight line where the color hits. The Extensions: Whatever toner they applied completely ruined my 20-inch extensions, turning them a harsh even more, brassy yellow. The Overall Dimension: My hair used to have a dimensional look with a nice contrast of darker tones and a clean white blonde (when I first got it done before the wash it looked dimensional). Now, it has completely processed into a bright, muddy orange. Natural vs. Extensions Mismatch: Because my natural hair was also turned orange in the process, the stark color difference and the harsh separation line make it painfully obvious where my natural hair ends and the extensions begin. The stylists were lovely people, but the actual chemical work and the health of my hair after a single wash were a disaster. I sadly won't be returning.
Megan is the best! She was able to make me a bright blonde which is no small task( especially when my roots are a dark ashy brown). Finding her was the best thing that has happened to my hair! She is so sweet and funny we laughed thru the whole appointment. I will be coming back here forever!!!
I had the BEST experience i could’ve possibly had. I’ve always ever dyed my own hair which obviously left it damaged and i’ve struggled for so long trusting and going to someone just because i feared the outcome of my own decision making. I went to Carson and she was by far the BEST ever. Truly God sent. Her hands are magical and she gave me what i wanted plus more and made me feel so so so confident. She explained everything she took a challenge with me having so much hair and executed in the best way possible. I came for model day and let her work her magic she literally gave me so much hope. I really couldn’t have had a better experience she went above and beyond. The sweetest soul , made me feel like i was talking to one of my bestfriends. The best hype girl not just to me but to everyone in the shop. Every person there got a compliment out of her. Her energy was truly infectious and the smile never left her face or the face of others when she spoke.
I can’t recommend Jeanie enough! She is incredibly talented, professional, and truly amazing at what she does. She takes her time to listen to what you want, offers great advice, and always makes sure you leave feeling beautiful. I am always so happy with the result. On top of her talent, she makes the entire experience enjoyable and welcoming. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about their clients and takes pride in their work, she is your girl! Highly recommend ❤️✂️
