I had a wonderful experience at Saunders & James this morning. I live in the neighborhood, but it was my first time at the salon and I'll definitely return. My appointment was the first of the day, and the owner himself welcomed me inside. Skye was my nail artist and is very talented. She helped me choose a set of Deborah Lippman nail colors to match the dress I'll be wearing to a wedding this weekend, one color for my toes and one for my hands. The whole of their color selection was on trend and well curated. I enjoyed a sugar scrub exfoliation with the pedicure and an undercoat for my manicure to help it last longer. My nails look beautiful and I'm so happy to have spent the time for self care. Thank you S&J!

This salon is truly amazing—not only because of their incredible talent, but also because of how kind and caring everyone is. My four-year-old wanted to have her nails done for her birthday, and she was definitely acting like a typical four-year-old! The nail artist was so patient, gentle, and sweet with her, making the experience extra special. On top of that, they did a fantastic job on my manicure and pedicure. Thank you for the wonderful service and for taking such great care of my family. We truly appreciate it and look forward to coming back!

I had the most wonderful experience in this place. The place is super clean. The staff are professional, attentive and sweet. The technician I saw today was Skye. She was so nice, sweet and delicate with my hands. Too bad she doesn’t work Saturdays lol I will definitely come back to this place.

Had such an amazing experience at Saunders and James Nail Care! The salon is clean, welcoming, and incredibly relaxing. Jules at the front desk was absolutely wonderful — so friendly, professional, and helpful from the moment I walked in. She made check-in effortless and set the tone for a truly special visit. Every member of the staff was just as fantastic — attentive, skilled, and genuinely caring. My nails came out beautiful, with flawless attention to detail. I can’t recommend this salon enough — shoutout to Jules and the entire team for making the experience so exceptional!

I have been coming to this place for 3+ years now. It's lovely and I would argue one of the nicest nail salons on College or in Rockridge. And yet, my experience today left me feeling completely awful and I won't be coming back. I've spent thousands of dollars a this place over the years - have also brought in my daughters. Today, when picking my color, I accidentally knocked over another color bottle with my jacket. I felt horrible and apologized immediately. The woman at the front desk was kind and immediately started cleaning it up. I felt really bad. In any case, when it was time to check out, my total bill after being there for 2.5 hours was $170. Then the receptionist asked to me also pay $13.50 for the color that I broke. I don't mind the $13 - but I think it's a terrible business decision. I won't be coming back. 1) I think that it's just poor judgement to ask your loyal customer to pay for an accident especially when honestly it's not that much money and 2) much worst, the owner who was there and left just a minute before I checked out, was too scared to ask me herself and instead put it on an employee - I thought that it was such a poor move. It's totally unfair to the employee to be put in this position - she immediately became defensive and said that it wasn't her - but the owner who is requesting the payment. The whole situation left such a bad taste in my mouth - I really don't like it when employees get treated this way. It's so unfortunate that this occurred. And I used to really like the place.
