sheng kee @526 Westlake Center, Daly City, CA 94015 This place offers a variety of sliced and whole cakes, so there are quite a few options to choose from. We decided to try the NY cheesecake. The cream cheese texture was soft and creamy, which I liked, but the flavor itself was pretty mediocre and didn’t really stand out compared to other cheesecakes I’ve had. We also tried the mini buns. They cost $10 for a pack of 4, which felt quite expensive for what you get. Taste-wise, they were just ordinary—nothing particularly special that would make me want to order them again at that price. For drinks, we ordered Peet’s coffee. The caramel latte was good and had a nice balance of sweetness and coffee flavor. However, the cappuccino was very diluted and weak, to the point that I could barely taste the coffee. One thing I did appreciate about the place is the ample dine-in space. It’s spacious and comfortable if you want to sit down and spend some time there. Overall, my review is based only on the items we ordered, so I can’t really comment on the other breads or pastries they offer.

I have come here for a few years. I love their plain thai tea, and I'm a snob about my thai teas. Their swiss rolls are such a comfort treat for me and I'm happy that most of their baked goods, though flavorful, are not overly sweet. Their flaky croissant doughs are addictive. This was my go-to snack place for a loooong time. It can get busy, but "dining in" is pretty chill. I used to spend hours from time to time drawing there and have never been hassled. Yes, I would say the workers are not very enthusiastic, but it hasn't been an issue? I don't really mind, they haven't been specifically rude either. ***Just a note: there's a minimum for credit card transactions. I believe it's $15.

One of my go to weekly location to get pastries for mom. She loves their baked pork buns, and I like the cream coconut bun, or their cocktail bun. Sometimes, I would buy their shredded pork bun. During birthdays or special occasions, I also would buy their cakes like the tiramisu, mocha cake or their fruit tarts. Their cakes are not too sweet at all nor have too much whipped cream unlike other pastries locations.

Loved it!! There was such a variety of bread and cakes we didn't know which to choose. We bought several and they were all delicious. The hot chocolate was amazing and the temperature perfect to start drinking right of way. The ambience was picturesque and relaxing and the staff was very friendly. We'll definitely be back throughout our entire San Francisco vacation!!

Sheng Kee has a lot of locations throughout the bay. Their buns are OK and tend to run on the smaller side. I do like how they open early at 7am and have warm pastries. Today I got ham & egg bun $2.75, Vietnamese sandwich $5.85, bbq pork flick $2.55 and 2x chicken pie $2.25. They were OK, not great. The worst was their version of a "Vietnamese" sandwich.
