Sign in to reviewMy favorite Chinese bakery :) We always buy so many different kinds of bread/cake/cookie everytime we visit the store, everything is delicious. Birthday cakes are awesome, my favorite flavor is the Toro one, my husband loves the black forest - actually he just had one for his birthday recently.
Love the cakes from this spot. Reminds me of the cake from my childhood. They’re not overly sweet and the cream/cake ratio is good. The cashier could be more friendly to the customers. She got impatient when we had to get more items to use credit card, then she was impatient when we tried to use the Amex card. Lesson learned. There’s minimum for card and no Amex.
Six Ping Bakery in Houston’s Chinatown is a must-visit for fresh, affordable Asian pastries. They offer a huge variety—from pork floss buns to egg tarts—and everything is soft, flavorful, and reasonably priced. It’s mostly self-serve, which keeps things fast even when it’s busy. The real standout, though, is their taro cake. Made with real taro, it’s lightly sweet with a unique, rich texture that’s hard to find anywhere else. If you’re a taro lover, this alone is worth the trip. Whether you’re picking up a few snacks or stocking up, Six Ping delivers every time.
