Steve's Automotive

Steve's Automotive is a car repair and maintenance service at 22 NW 14th Ave, Portland, OR 97209. For drivers looking for an independent local shop in Portland, customer feedback points to a practical focus on clear communication, careful evaluation, and fair service. The business has a 4.4-star rating from 112 reviews. Whether you have a vehicle that needs routine attention or a problem you are still trying to diagnose, Steve's offers a place to start the conversation and understand what may be needed.

Customers describe bringing a range of vehicles and concerns to the shop. One new Portland resident sought service for a well-maintained 2018 Tacoma and praised the staff member Ed for being kind, honest, timely, and communicative. Another customer brought in a used car that continued to have starting trouble despite a new battery, looking for a basic checkup and guidance about the likely cause. These accounts suggest that Steve's may suit drivers who value an explanation of the issue, rather than feeling left to guess about the next step. The reviews do not establish that every repair or diagnosis will have the same outcome, so it is sensible to discuss your vehicle's symptoms and needs directly with the shop.

The feedback also includes smaller, time-sensitive repairs. A driver whose headlights stopped working on a Friday afternoon said the issue was fixed in about five minutes at a fair price, a useful example for someone facing an unexpected electrical or visibility problem. Other customers mention returning over many years and recommending the business to people they know. One reviewer describes Steve's as a Christian-owned shop and says it is woman-owned and managed; this reflects that customer's account. Another review describes seeking help with long-standing Jeep Grand Cherokee issues after visits to other repair providers, showing that customers may bring complex concerns as well as straightforward maintenance needs. The review excerpt does not specify the final result, so drivers with recurring problems should ask what checks are appropriate before authorizing work.

Steve's Automotive is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and closed Saturday and Sunday. Its Portland location and weekday schedule can work well for local residents and commuters planning service during the workweek. Before visiting, contact the shop to confirm availability, discuss the type of service your vehicle needs, and ask about timing and pricing. For anyone comparing a car repair and maintenance service in Portland, the customer comments offer concrete reasons to consider Steve's: approachable communication, attention to practical problems, and reports of fair, timely help. A clear conversation about symptoms, options, and expectations is a good first step toward deciding whether the shop is right for your car.
