OBSESSED with the fish sauce wings here. Whenever we bring them to a party, people ask where they’re from cuz they’re so good! Perfectly fried, with the satisfying crunch of a crispy wing coated in a sweet sticky garlic sauce. Call ahead to place your order (same day seems to be ok). Also the shop keeper is super friendly and full of jokes.
Went here for the first time a couple days ago and it won’t be my last!! I only got a couple Banh Mis and some spring rolls, but they had so many other yummy foods that I want to try. The best part is that the prices are SO affordable, please go try it out for yourself!
We decide to have a taste test of the banh cuon between Tan Dinh and Saigon Vietname Deli... Both have similar fillings... but the Saigon Vietnam deli won the contest hand down... It has a great deal for filling and the rice crepe was chewy and tasted just like what you would expect in Vietnam. The consolation for Tan Dinh is their pickled ham is superb... Just perfectly spicy and pickled just right - vs. Saigon's version which was past its best taste date... (even though Saigon's version does not indicate a date - they just cut the ham in chunks..)
A small little deli shop with great prices. I mean $6.50 for a Bahn Mi and $5.50 for a chicken thigh+ drumstick and sticky rice combo, great deal. And the owner is pretty chill too.
Tan Dinh is a good place to visit for a very affordable meal. I used to visit when it was a different owner almost a decade ago now probably, but have not been back since the new owners set up shop. I visited on a Friday morning around 9am and was the only customer. Because it was early there was not a lot of hot food to choose from but they did have the packages of rice noodles, spring rolls, and desserts available. I ended up going for the pork banh mi. It’s cheaper than the other Vietnamese delis that I’ve visited at $3.50. The sandwich was pretty good. The bread was pretty decent and the daikon and carrots were nicely acidic. The pork was the best part. It was caramelized in places and had a good balance of salt, sweet, and richness. I would return because I’m interested in seeing what they have to offer in terms of hot food.
