Texas Digestive Disease Consultants: Sugar Land - SW FW Phan

I had the most appalling experience I have ever had. I called last week to get an appointment and was very clear that I wanted a second opinion and needed a new GI doctor. I brought in all my paperwork and was completely prepared for the appointment. The doctor sent the nurse back in to tell me to go back to my previous GI doctor. I asked her, “um, so he is refusing to see me?” And she said no but he highly suggested me going elsewhere. I was shocked. I started to ask her questions and get clarity and he came into the room and rudely interrupted and told me all kinds of excuses. He was so unbelievably rude and walked me out saying that they don’t do second opinions here as i was literally crying and told him that I had been in pain for a month. He told me to go elsewhere where they take complicated cases. I was shocked and asked why I was a “complicated case” considering the fact that he hadn’t even met with me and heard any of the details yet? I didn’t think my case was complicated, but just the right tests haven’t been done. I am not sure if I was treated this way because i am Caucasian and the whole office was Asian? They refunded my money and sent me off. This doctor clearly has no idea what he is doing, no bedside manner, and doesn’t actually care about anyone (at least any white people) getting the help that they need. Absolutely a disgrace to the medical community. What a waste of my time and now I have to wait longer and try to find someone who will actually help me. I am still in shock at being treated so rudely and with no empathy and actually being turned away.

Great experience as a first timer! The front desk staff and medical assistant were very nice and helpful, they ensured I had a smooth prep. Appreciate Dr. Phan taking time to explain the colonoscopy procedure and treatment options. I highly recommended him to anyone looking for a specialist.

Dr. Phan is very knowledgeable about his field. He and his team care about their patients. He spends plenty of time to explain and listen to his patients. He has been my GI doctor for many years. I would highly recommend him for any new patients.

Nurse named Van at the front desk is so helpful, she helped me to book appointment as soon as possible. The waiting area and exam room are clean and neat. My wait time at the facility was minimal. Dr. Phan is very friendly, caring and professional. Thank you so much Dr. Phan and the staff. Highly recommend.

I am rating Dr. Phan and team on behalf of my mother as she doesn’t have a google account. Dr. Phan and his team were very attentive and did a great job on easing her anxiety going into the procedure. She is very thankful for everyone at the center who took the time to helped her understand what she was going through.
