The Alley Noodle Bar - Frisco

We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. We ordered the Spring Rolls ($8.50), Pho Me Up! ($19.50), BBH Medium ($12), and Risk it Pho Da Brisket Medium ($12). The food was a mixed bag. The soups for all three orders had distinct flavors, which was nice. The Pho Me Up broth tasted good, but it is pricey for what you get. The portion sizes here are generally small for the price—the "Large" here is equivalent to a "Medium" at the pho restaurants in Richardson. Even the spring rolls were $8.50. The BBH was not good. It was missing the traditional pork hock and blood, and the flavor actually tasted a little funny. Service was average, and they seemed short-staffed during the lunch rush. Overall: This is the closest pho option in Prosper if you want to save yourself the drive to Richardson, but the value isn't great. I might be back if I am absolutely desperate for pho and don't have the time to drive south, but otherwise, I'd prefer the Richardson spots.

I’ve had Pho from many cities I’ve lived between Canada and other states.. I have never been so disappointed in a pho place to share this. And I hate to have to write this, but this is a total rip-off. This is their “large size” take-out bowl of pho for $17, and got child portion size noodles. When I called back to ask about this, their reason was “that most their customers don’t eat much noodles why they do it like that”. Rice/Noodles is the cheapest part of the meal, I don’t understand how they gauge how much one person eats from the next or what they do with it when they’re doing a take-out order. If a customer orders a large, I couldn’t possibly imagine what their small looks like!!! Customers should get what they pay for and not be ripped-off, or this restaurant should not be charging $17 for this size meal. Maybe it’s because they are serving American pockets and think people here won’t be able to tell how Pho should be served. In addition to that and just my two cents, I love Pho most places I go, but they cater to the American palette and the broth is a little too salty.. and when I got home my “rare steak” was thrown into the hot container of broth which made it chewy sitting in the trapped heat and no longer “rare” steak that I ordered. If I wanted cooked meat i would have ordered that, but no, in addition to the baby size noodles for $17 they also decided how I was going to eat my “rare steak” and they threw it in the hot broth without asking if that’s how I wanted it. It should be packaged appropriately and served according to the menu description.

I was throughly surprised by how wonderful the pho and egg rolls were when I was just looking for a pho place that was open a bit later in the evening. The broth was slightly different than the regular chain pho restaurants i go to but it was still a phenomenal meal!

We were amazed by the level of customer service and taste of food. We didn't know what to order, nor did we know what the menu items were. We had a large party, so some tables had to be moved around. The manager/ person in charge recommended the garlic noodles with shaken beef. It didn't sound pleasing, but to our surprise, it was bursting with savory flavors. It definitely made our Top 5 Asian food restaurants. Try the garlic noodles with the shaken beef. You will thank me later...

This is our new favorite Vietnamese restaurant. It’s nice and clean with great service. You gotta try the HOLY COW- BO NE- sizzling beef tenderloin on a hot plate, served with a sunnyside up egg, liver pate, and cheese. The side salad and bread made the dish even better. We are definitely going to come back.
