Sign in to reviewThis firm deserved zero stars, but I’ll put one to make sure my review is posted. I highly recommend to NEVER go to this law firm for any legal advice!!! This firm is unprofessional and unethical. Long story short, my father (79 years old), who has dementia for years and recently has deteriorated drastically, randomly found this firm to change his Living Trust and added his new wife (~30 years younger then my father) who just got to US from Vietnam about 5 months ago. Apparently the attorney Hoang Tu proceeded to have prepare a brand new Trust and Deeds to put his wife on title without doing his due diligence of interviewing my father to properly prepare the new Trust and Deeds. His staff handled the interview and completed trust forms with my Father. I called to inquire about this when we received the newly recorded deed and informed him of my father’s condition. I informed him that we are in the process of getting conservatorship over my father and he responded “Well you don’t have it now, so your father has the right to transfer his assets and revoke his prior trust as he pleases.” I said “yes, but he can only make decision when he’s of sound mind and for the past year or so, he’s not of sound mind. He has severe dementia!” Attorney Tu was unprofessional and proceeded to argue with me about my father’s condition saying he was fine to make his decisions. I was informed after this phone call, that my older sister had contacted Attorney Tu’s office in January prior to my father creating a new Trust, to inform them of my father’s dementia, yet, Attorney Tu asserts ignorance about knowledge of my father’s condition and proceed to do the trust anyway. Anyhow, after my call with Attorney Tu, his firm called my father to have him come to the firm. Attorney Tu told my father that I called him and caused a scene and that I said to him that my father was “insane” and bad mouth me to my father who has dementia! On top of that, I informed Attorney Tu that I am in the process of getting conservatorship and his response was “Well you don’t have one now so your dad can make his own decisions.” So at the meeting with my father, this attorney told my father that I’m working on conservatorship and once I get it, my father would only be able to eat cup-o-noodle/ramen! All this is so unprofessional and did not do any good for our family. Then Attorney Tu wrote this letter to my father stating he had no idea about my father’s condition until 3/4/26 and stated he was declining to continue representation of my father for any thing to do with modification of the new Trust and deeds. Apparently, this was my father’s first face to face interaction with Attorney Tu! Because of Attorney Tu’s unethical conduct and lack of professional responsibility, he has caused our family a lot of turmoil and now I have to seek counsel to undo this ordeal Attorney Tu has created with the new Trust and Deeds. Had Attorney Tu’s done his due diligence and properly interviewed my father in person before preparing any Trust or Deed, he would’ve easily notice my father’s diminished capacity and ethically would not proceed to prepare a new Trust or deeds. There are six of us children that are affected by Attorney Tu’s unethical conduct and neglect for professional responsibility to properly assist a client. Again, I highly would NEVER recommend anyone to go to this firm. Obviously the attorney here will take on any case just for a few bucks.
Difficult to reach through both email and phone. When I have questions, they take long to be answered and I was notified that I had to be in court only a week before (it would’ve been hard for some people to take off of work if they were in the same position) and the only reason I found out was because I kept calling for updates. Without consistently calling, I don’t know what would’ve happened.
