The War Front - Military Antiques & Collectibles is an antique store in Milwaukie, Oregon, for people interested in military history, collectible objects, and the stories preserved in historic artifacts. Located at 13515 SE McLoughlin Blvd, Building 20, this distinctive stop combines items for sale with a compact, museum-like display. Visitors describe a range of military-related pieces and diorama-style scenes, making it a place to browse at your own pace, discover details, and explore a subject that may be familiar or entirely new. Its focused collection gives the shop a different feel from a general antiques store.
The front area is free to visit, according to customer accounts, and offers a chance to look around the displays and browse the available merchandise. A separate tour of the back area is also described by visitors as a paid experience. One customer spent about two hours exploring both the front and the tour, while others highlight the depth of the collection and the opportunity to learn about military history in the Portland area. The exact objects available can change, so shoppers looking for a particular uniform, artifact, or collectible should contact the store rather than assume a specific piece is in stock.
The War Front may appeal to military-history enthusiasts, collectors, veterans, families, and curious visitors planning an educational outing. Dioramas offer a visual way to engage with historical subjects, and the compact setting can make a visit feel personal and focused. Reviewers have praised the staff’s knowledge, including their ability to explain fine details, and some customers have used the shop’s consignment service for military items. If you are considering consigning an item, ask about the current process, terms, timing, and communication expectations before leaving your property with the store.
The listed hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the store is listed as closed Sunday through Tuesday. Customer feedback has included a report of arriving during posted hours and finding the door closed, so it is sensible to call ahead or confirm current access before making a long drive. This is especially useful if you plan to take the paid tour, are visiting with family, or have a specific shopping or consignment question. Checking in advance can help you plan around any changes to entry arrangements.
For a distinctive antiques stop in Milwaukie, The War Front brings together military collectibles, display pieces, and opportunities to learn about military history under one roof. Whether you want to browse the free front area, ask about a back-room tour, find a collectible, or discuss consigning military-related items, contact the shop to confirm availability and current details. Its specialized focus makes it a worthwhile option for visitors who value historical context as much as the objects themselves, with a visit best planned around confirmed hours and the experience you hope to have.

This is awful service! Came here from 2 hours away because we heard this place was great from a friend and ended up getting there when google says it’s open until 6 we see this sign on the door! This is ridiculous! And nothing on website says it’s by appointment only! Do better people!
Very compact but unique military museum, they have a lot of things for sale. They have a special tour through the back area that you have to pay for. You can visit the front for free. A few diorama style setups. We were there for about 2 hours because we also did the tour. My husband and son were thrilled and we really enjoyed the tour.
Incredible spot for anyone into military history. The collection is top-notch, Larry & Drew are the most knowledgeable in the area. Where else can you go and learn a minute detail in PDX? Their consignment process is also good, which I have …
I've been going to the war front for several years now. I've spent over $10,000.00 at their stores over the years. 14 months ago, I brought in a couple of items in on consignment. I had never taken anything to them before. Brought the items in, no problem, they consigned them for me. 14 months later, I never heard a word from them as to the status of my two items. I decided to out and pick up my two items and take to them another piece of Militaria I was considering consigning or even selling. They are very disorganized, so it didn't surprise me they would not call, etc., but as all the customers do, you look past it. BTW, the Warfront closes on random days and times, so, make sure you call in advance before you go out there. I went out there in late May of 2024, they were closed. I called, Lawrence answered and told me they were closed because they were in Normandy France. Ok, but it's not the first time something like this has happened. Anyway, I called to confirm they were open as I was driving. Lawrence was very nice when answering, asking "what are you looking for?" As soon as I explained I was picking up a couple of items from consignment and I had an item for them to look at, he got hostile. Telling me to "you need to make an appointment." I explained that I didn't know that, no mention on the website, etc. I had brought them the two other items, just showed up, no issues, etc. The drive is across town for me and I was on my way. He 'begrudgingly' told me to come out since I was on my way. Upon arrival, he had my dagger out (I was picking up) and a check made out to me. He told the one item had sold, here was "my check." Andy and Lawrence "Larry" were ice cold, down right rude, terribly rude. As I write this, I have no idea why. I've never been treated rudely there, as a matter of fact, Andy has always been super friendly. They didn't look at my new piece and stood at opposite ends of the counter, commenting on "not getting anything done today", literally angry. I was there, maybe 5 minutes and left. I couldn't believe it. Super nice when he thought I was going to buy something, incredibly rude because I picked up my items? When were you going to call me to tell me my one item had sold? How long were you going to keep my cash and the other item without ever calling and discussing price etc. with me? Incredibly unprofessional. Suffice it to say, I will never go in there again or purchase a single item from the Warfront again. These guys clearly put on a show if your buying something, but rude otherwise. I'll go to Wittman or someone else. BTW, they put Wittman down on his pricing, but they go to his website to price things all the time. I'm glad to know that business is doing so well that you can treat good customers so poorly. See a review below of another person being treated poorly. Not good people, what a shame. Just know what your walking into there. They are out for the margin, that's it.
I recently tried to get rid of some military uniforms from my prior service and decided to call The War Front to see if they were interested. A man answered the phone, and when I asked if they bought military uniforms, he not only mocked me …
