Trafton's Foreign Auto

Trafton's Foreign Auto is an auto repair shop in Portland, Oregon, serving drivers at 15570 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97233. Customer feedback points to experience with Volkswagen and Audi vehicles, along with inspections, maintenance, and repair work. For Portland-area drivers looking for a shop to assess a used-car purchase, investigate an unusual noise, or explain which repairs need attention first, Trafton's offers a practical place to start.

Reviews describe a clear, straightforward approach to service. One customer brought in a recently purchased 2014 Audi Q5 for a post-purchase inspection and said the shop completed a thorough check, identified urgent repairs, and returned the vehicle in two days. Other customers mention work on a Volkswagen Rabbit and Jetta, including service for concerning noises and a needed tune-up. These accounts suggest the team can help customers understand a vehicle’s condition and prioritize the next steps, rather than leaving them to guess what a repair recommendation means.

Communication and transparency are recurring themes in customer experiences. Reviewers appreciate being told what work was needed and describe the staff as friendly, flexible, and accommodating. One person also praised the clear directions provided after a safety inspection, which may be helpful for first-time car owners or anyone unfamiliar with the inspection process. Customers mention reasonable pricing, but costs depend on the vehicle and the work required; contacting the shop with details about your car and concern is the best way to discuss what to expect.

The shop’s setting has also made a warm impression: one reviewer noted plants and a fish tank inside. That small detail, together with comments about helpful service, gives visitors a sense of a welcoming independent repair shop rather than a place where they have to navigate the process alone. Trafton's may suit Volkswagen and Audi owners, used-car buyers seeking an inspection, and local drivers who value candid explanations and responsive service. Its customer rating is 4.9 based on 206 reviews.

Trafton's Foreign Auto is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and closed Saturday and Sunday. Before visiting, drivers can call or check directly with the shop to confirm availability and ask about the service their vehicle needs. Whether you are following up on a newly purchased car, looking into an unfamiliar sound, or arranging routine attention, sharing the vehicle’s make, model, and symptoms can help the team understand your request.
