For home cooks, food lovers, and local culinary enthusiasts seeking authentic Asian cooking essentials, Tsue Chong - Retail Store stands as a unique staple in the Pacific Northwest. Located in the bustling Chinatown International District of Seattle, WA, this specialized restaurant supply store and wholesale manufacturer provides direct access to fresh, traditionally made kitchen staples. While operations and entrances have evolved over the years, the facility remains an important supplier of foundational Asian culinary ingredients for both restaurants and retail customers. Visitors should note that access to the retail storefront is on 8th Ave S, where friendly staff members are ready to assist shoppers looking for quality products straight from the source.

At the core of the product line at Tsue Chong - Retail Store is their daily production of traditional Asian noodles and wrappers. Customers come specifically for the freshly made noodles, including authentic fun (wide rice noodles), as well as thin and sturdy wonton wrappers. These fresh wrappers make it easy for home chefs to get creative in the kitchen, wrapping homemade fillings to craft delicious, restaurant-quality dumplings, potstickers, and wonton soups at home. Buying directly from this local facility ensures maximum freshness that standard grocery store alternatives rarely match.

Beyond savory ingredients, this Seattle, WA store is famous for its classic fortune cookies and unique novelty items. A beloved favorite among regular visitors is their large bags of "misfortune" or "unfortunate" cookies—crunchy, imperfect factory rejects that taste just as sweet and satisfying as the originals. These novelty sweets make fantastic conversation starters, fun party treats, or crunchy dessert toppings to pair with scoops of ice cream. Whether buying pristine boxed cookies or value bags of cookie pieces, it is a fun experience for curious foodies.

Serving the local community Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (closed Sundays), Tsue Chong - Retail Store is an ideal stop for bulk buyers, families cooking homemade Asian dinners, and anyone exploring the culinary heritage of Seattle's International District. To ensure product availability for specialty items like fortune cookies and fresh wonton skins, calling ahead is always a great option for a smooth shopping trip.

It was supposed to be the fortune cookie company I used to go there every time I was in Seattle but now its completely a different company and even neighbors said that they didn't know why its gone that it just never opened up again. its still on maps as if it was still there.

Five stars for the exceptional service that Jake gave us. I called ahead to ensure they had unfortunate cookies available, only to find out they would be closed by the time I got there (two hours after crossing the border from Canada). The hours on the website are incorrect; they close at 12 noon on Saturdays. Jake was so kind and was able to ensure we got our unfortunate cookies even after they closed. Thank you for being so accommodating, Jake, we appreciated it so much especially after driving all that way to get there! Some of the unfortunate cookies may be imperfect, but they taste just as good as the perfect ones!

Super friendly place. Front door moved to 8th st. Fresh noodle, "fun", made daily. The have fresh wrappers for wontons. Be creative and add whatever filling you like. They have fortune cookies and huge bags of misfortune too. Yummy with ice cream.. Such a treat!

My daughter went here seven years ago for a field trip and loved it. So when my son didn’t have school mid week I decided to take him. It’s heart breaking what COVID probably did to this business. The store is gated up and it is now just a back entrance. The lady didn’t even smile at us and we asked about seeing the fortune cookie factory and she said no. I assume they just didn’t make them that day or they no longer give tours but it would have been nice to know which. We did buy a bag and they are great quality. If the owners read this charging for a tour of the factory (maybe $12 with the bag of cookies included) would double your cookie profits. In SanFran they do a ton of these and it’s super cool. I would have happily paid a few bucks.

This is a noodle and fortune cookie plant. I went here because I was at the Chinatown International District Lunar New Year Festival & was hoping to get a tour. There was supposed to be Is a store where you could purchase rejects are cookies and noodles. The noodle making and fortune cookie making has moved to Kent. There is a shelf when you walk in the door that has a few packages of noodles and cookies to buy but you can get the cookies for the same price at your Uwajimaya. Since I was already there and was speaking with a really nice man who gave me the information I bought cookies but it's not worth a trip and they need to update their Google overview
