Typhoon Asian Bistro is a sushi restaurant at 725 Boylston St in Boston, MA, offering a downtown spot for sushi, other Asian-inspired dishes, and cocktails. With a 4.3-star rating from 298 reviews, Typhoon has drawn a range of opinions, so guests can use the menu and recent feedback to decide what suits them.
Sushi is a central reason to visit, with customer favorites including hamachi crudo and sushi hand rolls. Reviewers have also enjoyed fish dishes described as tasty and sushi rolls described as fresh. Experiences with individual items can differ: one reviewer was disappointed by a hand-roll promotion, while others spoke warmly about their sushi and appetizers. If you are choosing a first order, the reviews offer useful context, but they do not establish that every dish or deal will be the right fit for every guest.
There is more to the reported experience than sushi alone. Guests mention baby back ribs as an appetizer and cocktails including the James Bond and a matcha tiramisu martini. One diner especially enjoyed the martini alongside hamachi crudo and hand rolls; another praised the attentive server and a promotion pairing two sushi rolls with a complimentary appetizer. These are customer-reported experiences, and availability or promotional terms may change, so it is sensible to confirm details with the restaurant when ordering.
The atmosphere may suit a date, a meal with friends, or an evening out when you want a restaurant with a polished setting and cocktails as well as sushi. Reviews describe both a quiet Tuesday visit with no long waits and a visually striking interior, though a single visit cannot predict how busy or lively another night will be. Typhoon is at 725 Boylston Street, making it a practical option for people seeking a sushi restaurant in central Boston. Its schedule varies by day: it opens at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; at 4:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; and at 5:00 p.m. Thursday. Friday and Saturday hours extend to 1:00 a.m., while other listed nights close at 11:00 p.m.
For a balanced visit, consider the dishes and drinks that reviewers specifically mention, ask about current specials, and keep in mind that opinions on particular items vary. Typhoon Asian Bistro brings together sushi, fish dishes, appetizers, cocktails, and a thoughtfully noted setting at a Boston address. Whether you are planning a late-week dinner, meeting someone for sushi, or looking for a cocktail with your meal, the restaurant’s location, published hours, and varied customer feedback can help you plan with realistic expectations.

Typhoon Review Wow, I was Indeed amazed when ate over here. To start off, the design of this Restaurant is Beautiful from the Outside and the Inside. For a drink I had the James Bond which had a real classy taste to it in which I enjoyed. As an appetizer I had their Baby Back Ribs which came literally on Fire for Special Effects and after the Flames went out the food had me out with immaculate tasting. For an Entrée I had the Lemongrass Roasted Chicken which was really unique and makes me wanna say yummy to my tummy. Lastly for Dessert, I had the Ice Cream on Warm Chocolate Lava Cake which was nothing but, delicious with this combination. Can’t forget to mention that that service here was spot on too, Thypoon has been co-signed by me as one of the best Restaurants in Boston.
The food was very good with nive service. No long waits ... was a quiet Tuesday night. Both fish dishes so tasty! Definitely have to go back!
I dont recommend the 3 for $10 hand roll deal- I expected it to be small but you cant identify any actual fish in the dish and it’s just tempura flakes. I could not even finish it - tasted like oil- and pretty much ruined my appetite. I’m sure the drinks or other dishes may be ok- but I would honestly take this deal off the menu entirely.
I ordered the hamachi crudo and three sushi hand rolls. Everything was so good. I also love fancy cocktails, so I ordered the matcha tiramisu martini 🍸 and it was amazing. Definitely going back for another drink!
Food was amazing and our server was so nice and attentive. They had an amazing deal if you got two sushi rolls you get the appetizer for free which was nice. Our food was hot and very fresh. Will definitely come back soon, if I’m in the area
