For shoppers, the South End location is worth considering if you enjoy looking through pre-owned clothing in person rather than searching only online. Reviews praise the store’s cleanliness, layout, and design, as well as staff members described as kind and approachable. Those details can make it easier to browse and ask questions, whether you have a specific item in mind or are simply seeing what is available. The provided business information does not identify particular labels, clothing types, or other merchandise, so selection may vary from visit to visit.

Uptown Cheapskate South End also receives clothing from people interested in selling, but reviews suggest that this experience can be less predictable than shopping. Some customers say they received fair prices and had positive interactions, while others felt their offers were too low or questioned how thoroughly items were reviewed. Several reviewers also report that buying may stop earlier than the posted store closing time. If you plan to sell, consider calling ahead to confirm whether the store is accepting items that day, when to arrive, and what kinds of clothing it is currently reviewing. An offer and the decision to accept items may depend on the store’s assessment; the available information does not specify its purchasing criteria.

The listed hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. These are the posted business hours, but customer reports indicate that seller intake may end earlier, so check directly before making a special trip to sell. For ordinary shopping, the location serves Charlotte residents and visitors seeking a secondhand clothing store in the South End area. Whether you are browsing for yourself or bringing clothing to be considered for resale, checking current availability and intake timing can help set clear expectations before you go.

Since Google currently does not allow for percentage points, I've been adding my own. That's why I'm grading this particular business at a 4.5. Exceptional cleanliness, layout, design, and a very engaging staff. The night before, I had been making some phone calls, inquiring about different aspects of some businesses, and happened to speak with Tyler, the manager of this particular Uptown Cheapskate. Very laid-back, engaging, personable, and knowledgeable on the phone as well as in person. I visited this (his) and the store the very next day. The stores vibe was very friendly and inviting. The clothing, shoes, eyewear, and other accessories I would most certainly classify as haute-couture. If you are young or even young at heart, or just a browser that enjoys looking at beautiful clothing and accessories... this is most definitely the place for you to do some eclectic viewing. Please enjoy the photos and definitely take the time to visit the store. It's definitely worth the time. They also purchase item's, of a certain caliber. Just remember, this store is in business too, make a profit. If you took the time to read this review, please take a 1/2 second and click like. Thank you.

SELLING EXPERIENCE: They will say that they will take up to 45 minutes to appraise your clothes, but I was grossly disappointed with what felt like underpayment. Not even $10 for my better quality clothing. Regret! …

Booooo👎🏼 I would love to know how Uptown Cheapskate manages to evaluate an entire bin of clothes at record speed, especially when I get my bag back and all but the top 3 items are still folded exactly the way I packed them. Apparently, the inspection process includes developing xray vision. The best part is walking around the store afterward and seeing racks full of clothes that look like they survived three owners and a decade in someone's attic. Don't waste your time trying to sell here on the off chance that they’ll try and give you 20 bucks for $300 worth of clothing.

Tried to come here multiple times to sell clothes and they always stop buying clothes early. Their hours don’t match the website at all. They said corporate won’t change them which is unacceptable, wasting so many customers time traveling …

I’ve always had an amazing experience at this Uptown! The staff are incredibly laid back and kind which is sometimes not the easiest to find in customer service related fields. I also have received fair pricing on my items every time I’ve gone to sell with them. 10 out of 10 would recommend 👍🏾 …
