UTea Pho

Thai tea with chewy boba always be my choice🧋 classic. The pho also surprised me with the quality personally think this is better than Sippho where I only go for the last few months. Glad that I found you!

A quit place hidden in West campus. The prices where on average for other pho sites. We shared a lemongrass beef with roll. He brought out two rules. Not sure if that's standard. We did ask for extra meat which was a $3 charge. And then two desserts cream puffs at the end which were delicious. Tiramisu which was my wife's favorite. Brown butter pecan. Definitely worth a try. Give them a look. Seating is limited so expect to wait during peak hours.

NOT Vegetarian/Vegan/Allergy Friendly. I don't typically leave negative reviews for small businesses, but the deception around dietary accommodations here, and the way I was treated afterward, left me no choice. Months later, I'm still bothered by this experience. I've been vegetarian since birth and recently turned vegan. At the time of my visit, I was still a vegetarian. I asked multiple times about the filling in the veggie potstickers to confirm they were truly vegetarian, and placed my order explicitly as "the vegetarian potstickers." After a long wait, long enough that I was genuinely hungry, my food finally arrived. I took a bite without thinking to inspect the filling first. It was chicken. My friends at the table confirmed it. What followed made an already bad situation so much worse. When I brought it to our server's attention, she was dismissive and refused to simply believe me, forcing me into a back-and-forth just to be taken seriously. There was no apology. She returned to the kitchen to verify, leaving me sitting there upset, still hungry, and feeling completely dismissed, before coming back to confirm that the kitchen had mixed up their frozen dumplings. Still no apology. Still no offered solution. I had to explicitly ask what they could do, and was met with, "I mean, I guess we could bring you a new one." At that point, I had zero confidence in their kitchen, so I declined and switched to a noodle dish instead. Throughout all of this, I held back tears while somehow being made to feel like the problem. When the bill came, I was STUNNED to see the potstickers still fraudulently listed on the bill, correctly labeled as chicken, not veggie. It was a large group, so I assume they thought we wouldn't notice. My patience finally broke. I flagged down another server to politely alert him to the error, but he also offered no apology and said, with a visibly negative attitude and speaking down to me, "I mean, I guess I can just redo it and take it off, if you want me to." I had to remind him that they were the ones who made the mistake. I was not going to pay for food I couldn't eat, food that had already caused me real distress. I never went back, despite having been genuinely excited about this place. If you are vegan, vegetarian, or have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please do not trust this restaurant. They got my order wrong, took zero responsibility, offered no meaningful resolution, and made me beg for the bare minimum. As feedback: the correct response is to immediately apologize, remove the item from the bill without being asked, and offer a complimentary replacement. Anything less risks losing loyal customers, and more seriously, if a customer had a severe allergy, this exact scenario could have had real medical consequences. I want to be clear that I am not someone who complains easily. I have had plenty of restaurants mess up my order over the years, and I always respond with patience and understanding, because I genuinely respect how hard restaurant work is. But I have never had a restaurant handle a mistake this poorly, or leave me thinking about it months later. What stuck with me was being made to feel like I was causing a scene simply for pointing out their error, and then being made to feel petty for refusing to pay for a dish I could not eat and never should have been served. That treatment has a particular sting when you are a brown woman navigating these situations, where advocating for yourself can so easily be read as being difficult. I had the composure to handle it relatively calmly in the moment, but I will be honest: if this had happened even six months earlier or on an already difficult day, I would have been physically sick. That is not an acceptable way to make a customer feel. The food and location had genuine potential. I hope the staff learns from this, because the way I was treated was simply not okay.

I love UTea Pho... I've only ever gotten the brisket pho but it's so good I don't need to try anything else....... The service is always super fast and the people are really nice! Unfortunately if you get boba (at least the milk teas) the pearls have like a 50/50 shot of being really hard but the tea itself is decent and it's worth it to come just for the pho anyways. Genuinely such good pho.

I eat a lot of pho, and this place was just okay. The broth was pretty bland compared to other spots, and they weren't very generous with the meat. The service was fast, but the food didn't really stand out. It’s fine if you’re nearby, but I’ve definitely had better. **Pros:** Quick service. **Cons:** Weak broth; not enough meat(flavor wasn't the best).
