Food and drink are central to the appeal of V&A Cafe. Customer feedback mentions strong coffee alongside a large selection of food, with several guests calling out the Roasted Chicken Panini, BLTA Panini, French toast, and chai latte. The Roasted Chicken Panini was specifically recommended by one reviewer, while another praised the French toast and chai latte. Reviews also point to flavorful choices and healthy food options, giving visitors several directions to explore rather than framing the cafe as a one-item stop. Experiences with value vary: some guests describe food as reasonably priced, while others felt certain panini portions or prices did not fully meet their expectations. This mix of observations offers useful context when choosing an order.

The atmosphere is an important reason guests return or plan to return. Reviewers describe smooth music, a pleasant area for studying, and service that can be swift and friendly. One customer noted how the cafe's hospitality helped create a more positive moment before a stressful class, while another shared that staff helped clean up a spilled coffee and offered a replacement cup. These specific experiences do not define every visit, but they illustrate the considerate service several customers have noticed. With a place to sit and an everyday cafe setting, V&A Cafe can work well for a solo study session, a quiet pre-class stop, or a relaxed meal break.

For people searching for a cafe in Berkeley, California, V&A Cafe is a weekday option where coffee, panini, breakfast-style dishes, and study-friendly time come together at one Hearst Avenue address. Its listed 3.5 rating from 69 reviews reflects a range of experiences, including positive comments about food, music, location, and customer care alongside more measured notes on pricing and portions. I dropped my coffee and not only did they help me clean it up but they ended up offering me a new cup of coffee. Very very nice of them. I often come here before my class, which is a high stress time. The atmosphere and hospitality really helps me stay positive before walking into quizzes or dense lectures. The price of coffee here is pretty standard, maybe a little less than many other coffee shops. Would be great if they had more gluten free options, however.

Great customer service and nice area for a study spot. I was recommended the Roasted Chicken Panini and enjoyed it quite a lot. I did feel like it was a small portion for value, but I was starving. Would probably come here again because how near the Cafe is and the healthy food options!

The BLTA Panini was good, nothing special. They’re more on the pricey side. They have a large menu. A good spot to sit down and study in Berkeley. I will have to go back and try more. The customer service is decent.
