Great local Vietnamese spot in Tacoma’s Lincoln District. The pho is flavorful, portions are generous, and prices are very reasonable. You can tell this is a long-standing, family-run restaurant with authentic recipes and a lot of care put into the food. Kevin, the owner, is awesome—super nice, friendly, and attentive, which really adds to the experience. Service is efficient even when it gets busy. We ordered the Hu Tieu Nam Vang (Cambodian Phnom Penh noodle soup). My wife had the dry version and I had the soup version, and both were delicious. The coffee is strong, which I like, though it could use a little more condensed milk to balance it out. Overall, I really enjoy the restaurant’s atmosphere, the staff, and the food. It’s conveniently located on a corner with plenty of free street parking. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for solid Vietnamese comfort food in Tacoma.
Such a wonderful experience!! Came from out of town on a hiking trip and wanted to find a local place to eat. They had the most incredible wontons in existence and the lovely server said they’re made fresh every day! We had a great conversation with the whole family that worked there and I still cant get over how tasty the food was. Super affordable too. I wish I was spending more time in the area so I could have this my whole trip
Stopped by Green Dong Vietnamese Restaurant in South Tacoma — convenient location right by Hong Kong Market, so it’s easy to grab a meal and do grocery shopping in one trip. Food: Mongolian chicken — flavor was really good, well-seasoned and satisfying. The chicken itself was excellent, but it comes with a large portion of crispy noodles, which honestly felt excessive. I personally didn’t enjoy the noodles and ended up leaving most of them. Would recommend asking for less noodles when ordering. Lemongrass chicken — very tasty, served with fresh lettuce, and overall well-balanced. We pretty much finished all the chicken. Portions: Generous across the board — even the rice portion was more than enough (I couldn’t finish it). Good value, but could be slightly reduced to avoid waste. Ambience: Not a high-end aesthetic spot, but comfortable and practical for the price. Nice Vietnamese music in the background, plenty of natural light from the windows, and a cozy setup (around ~15 people capacity). Extras: They also offer Vietnamese coffee for about $1, which is a great add-on. Overall: Really good, flavorful food with strong value. Minor feedback would be to adjust portion balance (especially noodles), but definitely a solid local spot. Verdict: Great casual place for a satisfying meal — especially if you’re already in the area.
This is one of my husband's favorite pho places to go. Pho is still good price. We normally get the combo pho along with fresh spring rolls or eggrolls.
Cheaply priced food ,awesome customer service, and thermodynamics is authentic and healthy for you. I like the spring rolls. 2.50 per roll and they are huge. They are healthy for you. Love the staff. I also ordered the eggplant & tofu in garlic sauce w/ rice . Which was about 14$ it was scrumptious.
