About

Vol-Tech, Inc. is listed on FindALoco in Portland, OR with address, phone, website, hours, and map location. Common services and related keywords include Mechanic.

Vol-Tech, Inc. is a mechanic in Portland, Oregon, located at 610 NE Lombard St, Portland, OR 97211. Customer reviews describe visits involving Volvo models such as the S60R, XC70, and XC90, making the shop relevant to local drivers seeking help with these vehicles. The experiences shared by customers range from appreciative to critical, so prospective customers can get a more balanced picture by considering the details of the work they need and discussing expectations with the team before scheduling.

Reviews mention work on a variety of repair concerns rather than one signature service or dish: one Volvo S60R owner came in with a difficult-to-diagnose oil leak and a list of items to address, while other customers describe suspension concerns, a vehicle in limp mode, and preparation for a cross-country trip. These accounts point to repair and diagnostic work on Volvo vehicles, but they do not establish a complete service menu. If your car has a specific fault or needs a particular repair, contact Vol-Tech directly to ask whether the shop can assess it and what information to bring.

The customer feedback also offers a sense of the service experience. Some reviewers appreciate Alex's familiarity with the S60R, and others thank Martin and the team for thorough explanations and patience during the stresses of car repair. A customer arranging service for a 2010 XC90 before a long trip said the shop was able to schedule the vehicle for the following week. At the same time, other reviews describe serious concerns about diagnosis and repair recommendations, including an account in which a proposed timing-belt repair was disputed. That contrast makes clear why it is useful to ask questions, review the proposed work, and discuss next steps before authorizing repairs.

Vol-Tech may be worth contacting if you drive a Volvo in the Portland area and want to talk through a repair concern, especially one similar to the S60R, XC70, or XC90 situations described by reviewers. It may also suit drivers who value explanations and a patient conversation while navigating a repair. The shop's reported rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 99 reviews; ratings summarize customer experiences but cannot predict the outcome of an individual visit. Share the symptoms you are seeing and ask about diagnosis, scheduling, and estimates so you can decide whether the shop is a fit.

The listed hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and closed Saturday and Sunday. Because Friday hours are shorter, confirm availability before making plans, particularly if your vehicle needs attention before a trip. For Portland drivers comparing local mechanics, Vol-Tech's address, weekday schedule, and customer accounts provide a useful starting point for a direct conversation about your vehicle's needs.

I seriously cannot recommend Alex from Vol-Tech enough!! I recently bought my dream Volvo - an 07 S60R - and It had a long list of things needing to be replaced and addressed, starting with a very difficult to diagnose oil leak. Alex owns his very own S60R, and after just a few minutes of talking with him I had an abnormal amount of faith and trust that he was the best possible man for the job. I was still nervous as I’m OCD and had a lot of work to wait for, but once I picked my car up (which was less than 7 days after drop off) I thoroughly went through everything in our diagnostic notes and receipt. 10/10, the is the real deal, he was not lying. Additionally, Alex took the time to speak with me regularly while he was servicing my car, providing daily updates via texts, and even showed me before and after pictures AND videos! Now, for someone like me who is OCD and borderline annoying with how much I care about my car, Alex’s attention to detail and extra-mile communication and initiative was so deeply appreciated. My car runs better than I imagined it could have, and everything was completed beyond satisfaction. Vol-Tech also used to service my previous Volvo, an 08 S40 before it was tragically totaled. If you’re in the PNW and have a Volvo or a Subaru, go to Vol-Tech, ask for Martin and Alex, and tell them Lucas sent you! With my now multiple positive experiences, I think they have earned me as a customer for life.

Awful experience; it all started when I asked a friend who previously worked at a Volvo shop to replace the suspension on my XC70: all new shocks, coils, hardware, etc. He installed it but the front end had a bad clunking noise on both …

Appreciate Martin and the team at Voltech for giving us thorough explanations and being patient as we navigate the frustration of car repair, which is never fun for anyone. Thanks for your awesome customer service!

My XC70 was in limp mode. They apparently used a diagnostic tool, because the cover for the outlet was hanging open, but somehow still misdiagnosed a faulty throttle body as a faulty timing belt, which, by their estimate, would have put me $2600 over not even solving the problem. Then they offered to buy my car for $1000. I was upset and left. Don't trust a mechanic that offers to buy your car. Now they have skin in the game. How do you know they're not going to sabotage it to get you to sell? Previously, they had removed an expensive addition from my car in order to get to the battery, and then weren't even going to give it back to me until I asked. Is that normal? Do you need to ask for your own property back? They definitely charged me for the labor to remove it. In fact, I'm glad I didn't tell them up front that I wanted it back, because maybe they wouldn't have been so careful. This was all five years ago. I was a brand new driver then, and I've learned a lot more about the care and upkeep of my car. She's running just fine now. I go to Jim Fisher or TVG. Also? don't trust a mechanic with long fingernails.
