About
Voo Doo Mart is listed on FindALoco in New Orleans, LA with address, hours, and map location. Common services and related keywords include Liquor Store.
Voo Doo Mart is a liquor store at 1000 Canal St in New Orleans, Louisiana, in a location that can be convenient for visitors and people already moving through the city center. Its selection includes alcoholic beverages, and one customer also noted a broader range of everyday items, such as toiletries and groceries, alongside souvenirs. That mix may make the store useful for a quick stop when you need more than a bottle, though the available reviews suggest it is worth checking prices before you buy.
Customers describe the alcohol selection as a strength, while experiences with prices vary sharply. Several reviewers felt that some items cost substantially more than comparable products at nearby stores, including bottles and canned drinks. Others expected tourist-area prices but still found the difference greater than they were comfortable paying. If price is a priority, consider comparing options nearby before making a purchase. The 3.5-star rating across 107 reviews reflects a range of opinions rather than a uniformly positive or negative experience.
The store may suit travelers who value a convenient Canal Street stop, want to browse alcoholic beverages, or appreciate having toiletries, groceries, and souvenirs available in one place. A customer described it as a useful pit stop because of that wider assortment. If you are shopping for a particular product or planning a larger purchase, confirm availability and pricing in person; the supplied information does not identify specific brands, specialty bottles, or other services.
Some reviews also raise concerns about customer service, including one customer’s account of being asked to leave with a cardiac alert service dog. That is an individual report, not a complete account of the store’s policies or every customer’s experience, but it may be relevant to visitors who need accessibility accommodations. Taken together, the feedback points to a practical, centrally located shop with a varied selection, alongside recurring concerns about value and some reported service issues. Reading recent feedback and checking the total before paying can help set expectations.
Voo Doo Mart is listed as open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Hours and inventory can change, so verify details directly if timing or a particular item matters. If youre looking for the most overpriced alcohol in the history of the united states, then you found the place. This entire establishment thrives on tourists not knowing where else to go. I was charged over $100 for a little bottle of liqour and some high noons. I just turned around and walked out. You can get better prices literally 5 minutes in any direction. Do NOT go here
Stopped in expecting high prices for a tourist location. Bought my bottle then walked ONE BLOCK down to the Walgreens to get some juice and found the exact same bottle for almost half the price. I don’t mind supporting local but this was ridiculous to spend $35 for a $20 bottle
Broke federal law and kicked a cardiac alert service dog out of the store as soon as we walked in. Neither my dog or I did anything offensive in any way, we just were not welcome. I calmly and politely explained the law but they pretended like they didn't understand.
Charge double for what anyone else charges for monsters and Vodka. I think they just charge tourists more. Rip off, don’t go. Took my father in law for 60 for a fifth. Was 25 at home.
Excellent alcohol selection (naturally), but I was more surprised by the broad scope of toiletries, groceries, and other day to day -ies they had. Of course they were stocked full of souvenirs as well. Good place for a pit stop.
