Voodoo Blues is a gift shop at 706 Bourbon St in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the heart of a city known for its distinctive culture and lively visitor scene. Travelers exploring Bourbon Street can stop in to browse colorful, unusual gifts and souvenirs. A customer described the shop as a “zany place” with “colorful and freaky gifts,” suggesting a playful, eye-catching selection for people who enjoy browsing items with a bold New Orleans feel. If you are looking for a small keepsake or a memorable gift from your visit, this shop may be worth adding to your walk along the street.

The appeal here is the chance to look around and discover something that catches your eye, rather than a specifically documented specialty or made-to-order service. Customer feedback points to a tourist-shop setting, and one reviewer noted that some items and prices felt similar to what they had seen elsewhere in New Orleans. That perspective is useful if you are comparing shops or hoping to find something especially distinctive. Browse at your own pace, check the details and price of anything you are considering, and decide whether it suits what you are looking for. The available information does not identify particular product lines, so it is best to visit with an open mind.

Experiences shared by customers are mixed. The shop has a 4.3-star rating from 83 reviews, alongside positive comments about its colorful, fun-to-explore character and several serious complaints about interactions with cashiers and customer service. Those contrasting accounts mean a visit may feel different from one customer to another. We cannot promise a particular level of service or resolve individual experiences, but the range of feedback is worth knowing before you go. Visitors who value a quick browse and an unusual souvenir may focus on the merchandise, while anyone who prioritizes attentive service may want to keep the mixed reviews in mind.

Worst experience ever. Cashier told me I had been in the store three times today, and that the inventory doesn’t change, so I had no reason to come back. We went back and forth a couple times, and she basically accused me of stealing. I think it’s pretty much Customer Service 101 that you do not accuse customers of stealing.

Customer service zero star if I could. I would not recommend this tourist shop. They have the same items at the same prices you’ll find all over New Orleans—nothing here stands out except the way you’re treated inside, which unfortunately wasn’t in a good way for me. I came in looking at a dress and wasn’t sure it would fit. Every other shop I visited was happy to help me try things on over my clothes and went out of their way to be helpful. Here, the cashier bluntly told me no, then even made a point of telling the other employees that she refused to let me try it on. Just because it’s hot outside doesn’t mean you have to be grumpy with customers. I won’t be back, and honestly I don’t recommend anyone waste their time here. Walk a little farther down the road—there are plenty of other shops with the exact same merchandise, where you’ll get treated much better.

Terrible cashiers. So not a good experience. I left my drink upon the "altar" by requested by Rose. And then after paying for cigarettes, came back to find my drink was thrown away. SHe was super obnoxious about it too.
