The dish most closely associated with Vua Bún Bò Cali is bún bò Huế, and customer feedback consistently points to the broth as the main reason people return. Reviewers describe it as flavorful, complex, and satisfying, with noodles that feel both soft and springy. If you are the kind of diner who prefers a fuller meal, some guests suggest ordering a larger portion, especially if you arrive hungry. The restaurant also offers a Special Bun Bo Hue option, with choices such as beef rib or a beef bone accompaniment, giving regulars and first-time visitors a few ways to tailor their bowl. Beyond its signature soup, Vua Bún Bò Cali also stands out for dishes like mì bò kho and bánh canh thập cẩm. One reviewer called the mì bò kho flavorful and memorable enough to inspire a return visit for the bánh mì bò kho, which suggests the kitchen’s beef stew offerings have built their own following. The bánh canh thập cẩm was described as lighter but still enjoyable, making it a good fit for diners who want something comforting without feeling too heavy. That range gives the restaurant broader appeal than a one-dish specialist. Families, parents dining with adult children, and friends walking through the plaza looking for a casual lunch all seem like a natural match for this kind of menu.
The overall atmosphere appears clean, simple, and everyday casual, which fits what many people want from a neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant in Westminster. This is not presented as a formal dining room; instead, it feels more like a reliable place to sit down for a hot bowl of noodles, a stew, or a quick meal while spending time around Bolsa Avenue. That makes it suitable for solo diners, students, workers on a lunch break, and families looking for familiar Vietnamese flavors in Orange County. Parking is available in the plaza, though some visitors note that it can still feel a bit busy because of surrounding businesses, so arriving with a little extra time may help.
For local searchers asking where to find Vietnamese food in Westminster, CA, Vua Bún Bò Cali is best understood as a spot known for bún bò Huế, beef-based noodle dishes, and an approachable daytime schedule. The restaurant’s strongest mentions center on its broth, noodle texture, and comforting menu, while reviews also show that preferences can vary on spice level, portion expectations, and add-ons. That makes it a useful choice for diners who appreciate clear specialties and a casual setting rather than a broad, generic menu. Whether you are nearby on Bolsa Ave, visiting Westminster from elsewhere in Southern California, or specifically craving central Vietnamese noodle soup, Vua Bún Bò Cali is a name worth knowing in the local Vietnamese dining scene.

Sign in to reviewMy mom and I were just walking around the plaza trying to find a place to eat lunch. She saw the menu posted on the door and decided to give it a try. The Mi Bo Kho was so flavorful and delicious ! I will come back and get the Banh Mi Bo Kho. The Banh Canh Thap Cam was light but very good too. I love them both. Will be back for sure.
The best bun bo hue! The broth is flavorful, complex, and nutrient-dense. The noodles are also both soft and springy. Whenever I come down from Los Angeles, I make it a point to come here.
Clean restaurant. The broth was good but not spicy at all. The small portion is small so I recommend getting the large. They really need to add more meat for the price. The tea is not super strong and real bitter like other places.
Pretty good Bun Bo Hue place. I ordered the Special Bun Bo Hue which comes with Beef rib or Bowl of Beef Bone - optional. I got the beef rib which is little rubbery. Overall, highly recommended. Even though there is plenty of parking, it is kinda hard to park here because of the next-door super market goers.
First time here. My dad and I experienced the same symptoms right after 30 minutes of eating. We couldn’t digest the chili oil, it must be expired or something wrong with it. We both have steatorrhea now and keep running to the toilet due to oil leaking from butt. It’s so disgusting! We never once experienced anything like this. We came here from Florida and really hope to have good bun bo hue but it turned out so terrible. The waitress was nice though. I rarely leave review but I have to, the manager or owner please take a look at this. Your food safety is very concerning!!
