Sign in to reviewHadn’t been to a Walmart in years but they had unique Grinch merchandise so went. The place is gigantic and in full swing for the holidays. I was astonished at how much holiday related stuff I came home with after paying a fraction of the price expected. Plenty of manpower to keep plenty of cashiers open and employees that happily assist you. This was a very positive experience.
Typical department store, easy to find everything for agreeable prices. Lots of parking across the outside area. Not too busy during off peak hours.
Was there on a Saturday & was fairly busy. Wide aisles & lots of choices in the market section. Parking lot full but no problem getting my Sprinter Van a space. Other shoppers were courteous with lots of "excuse me's" very unlike the Trader Joes I used to frequent in Costa Mesa where apparently people raised there weren't taught respect for others especially seniors, not unlike the way they drive "outta the way boomer".
Tho this store is super busy and super hard to navigate when you get there about 45 mins before closing time (employees rushing the floor with huge palates to restock the shelves-the store becomes a maze and you get instantly blocked and have to quickly reroute yourself around and thru these hard to navigate isles) and you wish they would just wait till they actually close before complicating your shopping trip with an indoor pushbasket jam up like you are on the 405 in LA at 5pm, I still managed to get some of my list checked off and 1 item of that list was some frozen pizzas. That I did. Only the pizzas were stacked at a tag with wrong prices. There were too many to be a fluke but too cheap to be right. I thought there'd be an issue at check out so I snapped a picture knowing it was close to closing and price checks were not going to happen. (And considering the interior traffic jam the restocks were causing it would take forever if the clerk did call for a price check) I grabbed a few more items and heard that intercom call broadcasting that the store was closing bring your purchases up to check out. That I did. When the lady rang up the pizzas I was seeing a 10 dollar price tag. I whipped out my camera and showed her the still shot of their location above a sign that read differently- by about 8 dollars. She looked carefully at the picture, a whole 3 stacks, 3 stacks deep of some 15, 20 pizzas , zoomed in on the price tag and corrected her sale. She told me they weren't in the right place and it was an accident, but thats our problem not yours. And she gladly approved the presumed cost. She didn't make a stink, she didn't argue, she wasnt rude and barely took a 5 second look and she did the right thing. No block in her flow. I paid the bill and walked out feeling like a million bucks. It's sad but aren't shopping establishments suppose to treat the customer like that all the time? They dont. They usually make you feel like you are asking too much these days. They also know how to make you feel stupid and like you are a pain and that you are asking them to go above and beyond when its something normal that you are asking... Usually a move like that takes a whole team of experts to come over to the register, discuss the problem loudly, hold up the line, or dispurse the line to other available registers, ( and thats usually met with exhausted grunts and whiny complaints from the folks in line ) send a crew out to investigate and they suspend your bill while they try to figure out whats happening. You have to step aside and get held up indefinitely, waiting for verdict. But no. This woman was so courteous and not standing there with a chip on her shoulder ready to go to bat with me, she was kind and compassionate and understanding and logical. Clearly the snapshot was not faked or a rouse to get something for nothing and she had the mind that knew that. The decision was hers and it was good. So thank you super- busy- jumping- the- gun -with- your- restocks store, thank you for empowering your clerks with the executive decision making skills and ability to decide on a case like mine and specifically avoid the tragic hassle of the infamous price check nightmare that one would normally have to go thru. I dont go to Walmart often but you better believe i'll be frequenting that store more often now that I know they hire smart reasonable employees who treat their customers with such good judgement, and considerate logical care.
