I’ve been going to Jillian for years now. Much less frequently than I should because I am horrible at upkeep and maintenance. Nevertheless every time I do go Jillian does a fantastic job. We’ve done shorter bobs, longer layers, highlights. Everything that Jillian has done to my hair has looked great, received loads of compliments and lasted looking well way longer than expected. I have coarse curly hair and she’s been absolutely amazing with it.

I’ve now seen Rachel twice at Wild Orange Salon, and I can confidently say: she is truly one of one. From the very first appointment, Rachel didn’t just “do my hair”, she assessed my scalp, educated me, and completely shifted how I care for my hair at home. She taught me techniques and recommended tools and products that actually made a real difference. For almost three months after that first visit, my hair stayed fresh, wavy, and healthy; and I noticed significantly less hair shedding than before. That alone was a game changer. At my most recent visit, she brought my hair back to life for spring and summer- reshaping it beautifully while still keeping everything natural and aligned with my texture. What stood out the most is how attentive and intentional she is. Her priority is truly the health of your scalp and hair. I never felt rushed, and she was so mindful to make sure my scalp felt good the entire time- no irritation, no discomfort, just 100% attention and care. Rachel listens. She educates. She elevates. As someone who specializes in skin and scalp wellness, I deeply value her approach. It feels so aligned to work with someone who truly understands that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. I left feeling confident, refreshed, and more connected to how to properly better care for my hair moving forward. What a difference being with a stylist who truly pay attention makes. If you’re looking for someone who goes beyond styling and genuinely supports the health of your scalp and hair, Rachel is it. I’m so happy to be back in her chair. Thank you Rachel! I absolutely adore Bev! My hair is ridiculously easy to fry, since it's super fine and there's not much of it, but Bev can make it do just about anything I ask and it feels, looks, and smells amazing afterward - and if you've ever had a perm*, you know what a tall order that is! Every time I've had a specific request, be it a sea-witch ombre, an asymmetrical cut that doesn't make me look bald, or an undercut with a perm on top, she nails it with style (pun intended!). On days where I'm not sure exactly what I'm after, she helps me figure it out. I trust her enough at this point that I've had days where I've come in and just told her to have fun, and I always come out with something incredible. (Granted, I've known her for over a decade, so she knows what I like and our ideas about hair correlate really well, so YMMV - I wouldn't recommend doing this with ANYBODY the first time they style your hair!) At this point no one else is allowed to touch my hair - or my boyfriend's, or my daughter's, for that matter. Bev's got it dialed in, and I don't trust anybody like I trust her. Orange itself is a cute little shop with 3 stations and fun faux brick wallpaper, easily found and with pretty decent street parking. (Pro tip: the spot RIGHT in front of the store is, for some ungodly reason, limited to 24 minutes.) The lighting and decor is really nice, and on busy days when Bev has to juggle my more complicated requests around other clients (doing a haircut while my dye is processing, etc) I actually enjoy just hanging out in that space. There's a coffee shop kitty corner to the salon, so if you arrive a bit early (and before 2) you can even grab a coffee or a bite to eat before heading over. I cannot recommend this place - and specifically Bev! - enough. Don't hesitate to make an appointment! *I'm not sure Bev does perms anymore - I know they're pretty labor intensive if you're not as close to bald as I am, and it's been a minute since I've asked her for one.
