I’ve been coming to You Do the Dishes since 2018, and I finally got the chance to meet the owner! Come to find out, she’s from Erie, Pennsylvania, too. Such a small world! ❤️ I told her that we drive all the way from Sarasota just to come here and paint. She is every bit as warm and wonderful as the place she’s created, and it’s easy to see why I’ve loved coming here for so many years. Eight years later, it’s still worth the drive every single time. 🎨❤️ And I have to mention it: the blended chai latte is THE BEST! 🤤
We’ve been to You Do The Dishes about five times over the past year, and every single visit has been a great experience. As a family, we’ve painted everything from frogs and dog bowls to human bowls, alien figures, and even palm tree ashtrays. No matter how many times we go, I never get bored because they have such a huge selection of items to choose from. What I love most is how this place has helped me bond one-on-one with each of my kids. We’ve also brought extended family members and even hosted a birthday party there. It’s become one of our favorite family activities and a place where we can slow down, be creative, and spend quality time together. The prices are surprisingly affordable, especially for that part of town. I honestly wish they would open a location in Carrollwood, although I imagine it might be harder to find as many great student employees there. Speaking of the staff, every employee we’ve interacted with has been incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. And the owner deserves special recognition. Nobody is perfect, but she genuinely seems happy to see her customers every day. She’s always warm, positive, and works hard to create a place where families can make lasting memories. I could easily visit 100 more times and still find something new to paint. If you’re looking for a fun, affordable, family-friendly activity, I can’t recommend You Do The Dishes enough. We have had birthday parties there too!
We had such an amazing experience! Everyone was incredibly kind and took the time to explain everything in detail. There were so many pottery pieces to choose from, plenty of examples to inspire you, and an endless selection of colors and tools. It was such a fun and creative experience—we’ll definitely be back!
WOW! First time in here. How impressive! A full coffee bar, friendly and welcoming staff and... ART! Paint ceramics - a great selection - drink coffee and enjoy the vibe. The music they are playing enhances the feel. Ask for Tippi or Fran!
Came in for hubs birthday. They reserved a table with a birthday sign which I thought was very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time painting. Highly recommend this place. You can also order drinks Ava they have ice cream.
