The meat counter is the main reason many customers mention Zamzam Halal Supermarket. Reviews describe fresh chicken, lamb, goat, and beef, plus ground chicken and ground beef that can be prepared for customers. Shoppers have also noted bones and chicken skins for pet food or stock, along with marinated options such as kebab meat and tandoori chicken that are ready to take home and grill. That selection makes the market a convenient stop for halal home cooks who want specific cuts, quick preparation, and flavors that fit Afghani, tandoori-style, kebab-focused, and everyday home meals.
Beyond the butcher section, this grocery store carries a mix of vegetables, fruits, canned goods, crackers, cookies, and other packaged staples, according to customer feedback. The bakery is another part of the visit, with shoppers mentioning fresh thin bread and other baked items. The store's feel is simple, busy, and community-oriented rather than polished or restaurant-like. People come in to choose meat, ask for a grind or marinade, pick up groceries, and leave with ingredients for a meal they already have in mind.
For local searchers comparing halal markets in Fremont, the most helpful picture is balanced. The business shows a 3.3 rating from 365 reviews, so expectations should be practical. Many customers praise the fresh meat, the ability to get meat ground, and the availability of authentic Afghani food. Others report problems with service at the meat section or concerns about product quality. Because of that mixed feedback, careful shoppers may want to check packaged items, ask clear questions, and visit when they have enough time.
Zamzam Halal Supermarket works best for Fremont-area families, shared households, and cooks who prefer buying meat in person instead of guessing online. It can also be useful for barbecue planning, meal prep, and recipes that call for chicken, lamb, goat, beef, kebab meat, tandoori chicken, or fresh bread. If you are looking for a straightforward halal grocery store in Fremont, CA with a strong meat focus and a neighborhood-market feel, this Fremont Boulevard location is worth considering for repeat errands during its daily 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM hours.

Sign in to reviewI came here for fresh meat. I got ground chicken and ground beef. I was served quickly and personally. I also got some bones and chicken skins for my dog. My dog is super happy! I noticed they have kebabs meat and tandoori chicken ready for you to grill. They have a bakery too. I got fresh thin bread. I will come back here to explore more.
Horrible Customer Service. I am a regular customer and shop here once every 10 days. My repeated experience at the meat section have been extremely disappointing. The two men working there have consistently been rude, disrespectful, making me feel intimidated. During my visit today I finally spoke to the owner, who explained that the issue might be because I ask for meat to be packed in bags , which he claimed is " not their policy" . However , this policy is not displayed anywhere in the store and I was never informed about it before. The owner even admitted they would only start displaying the policy from tomorrow. Regardless of the store policy, there is no excuse for treating the customers badly. AS A WOMAN, I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE AND INTIMIDATED BY THE BEHAVIOR OF THE STAFF. I was also asked questions about my ORIGIN and NATIONALITY, which made me feel DISCRIMINATORY and UNACCPETABLE.
I just arrived home from store and I got 3 pieces of cookies I opened the box and whole cookie has mold. I usually try to give business to local stores but I am very dissatisfied by quality in this store. I got a bite of cookies before I recognize the mold. Selling these cookies can have health consequences in addition to money cost for the consumer. I don’t recommend this store.
It's basically a butcher store. Great place for buying FRESH meat. Chicken, Lamb, Goat, Beef, etc. They even have some marinated meats. Also ground meat that they grind fresh for you. They also have like a grocery store that sells a variety of stuff from vegetable, fruits, canned stuff, crackers/cookies, ethnic breads, etc...but not a big store for these things.
Everything here I love—it feels like my own. The best part is that if you’re looking for real, authentic Afghani food, this is the place to be!
