Amber Specialty Pharmacy

While the staff at this pharmacy are generally friendly and seem willing to help, their internal communication and follow-through are negligent to the point of being dangerous. We rely on them for medication for our daughter’s serious medical condition, and their inconsistencies have placed her health at risk. Most recently, we requested a refill on a Friday. We knew it was tight as we were running out on Tuesday, but we were promised it would ship Monday via overnight delivery to arrive Tuesday. On Monday, after sorting out an insurance issue (where I explicitly offered to pay out-of-pocket to ensure same-day shipping), I was confirmed again: it would ship Monday and arrive Tuesday. Instead, it shipped Tuesday for a Wednesday arrival. When we asked why, we were given contradictory stories. First, they claimed it did ship Monday (which the tracking label proved false). Finally, after pushing for answers, they admitted they didn't ship it Monday because it was out of stock—a crucial detail they failed to mention while making promises they couldn't keep. Being friendly is nice, but when people’s health is at stake, honesty and competence are required. We cannot trust a pharmacy that promises overnight delivery for critical medication when they don't even have the drug in stock.

I called and placed an order for my Kidney Transplant medicine. The order was accepted by Amber Specialty Pharmacy and I was told they would send it to me in 2 days. I didn’t receive the medication by the end of the 2nd day and called them on the 3rd day. I was told by the Amber Representative that they couldn’t fill the prescription because my Doctor hadn’t returned their call. I asked the representative why didn’t they call me to let me know they were having problems reaching my Doctor. He responded by saying that wasn’t his department and he didn’t know why they didn’t call me. I contacted my Doctor and had them refill the prescription. I called Amber Specialty Pharmacy and requested the prescription. They responded they had received my prescription from the Doctor and would fill and send me the prescription in 2 days. I am now going on 3 days waiting for my much needed Kidney Transplant medication.

I can’t say enough good things about Amber Pharmacy. They are always extremely helpful and understanding on how important getting your medication on time is. The pharmacist and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

I was set up with Amber when I was leaving Medical City Heart Hospital after my Heart Transplant. I love getting my Medicine delivered straight to my house. I receive a text message letting me know I have refills available. I have never ran out. The staff is wonderful! I highly recommend!!

Five Stars all the way for AMBER PHARMACY! This pharmacy did not carry the medication I was needing. However, having said this, I was privileged to speak to a member pharmacy staff named Jaycy. I have to say, she was one of the most helpful people I've ever dealt with. Her caring attitude and genuine desire to help was perfection. She restored my faith in humanity, in that, there are STILL a few people who truly care about not only their responsibility to their job and customers, but truly go above and beyond in customer service. Will never forget her kindness! Thank you!
