I cannot recommend Mrs. Li enough. Her work is exceptional and she is extremely efficient. She was able to tailor my dress after the online measuring chart for it proved to be waaaay off and too big for me! Mrs. Li fixed that right away and I’ll be returning for all my tailoring needs. Just a heads up, she mostly speaks mandarin so I’d recommend using your phone to help you communicate if you don’t speak mandarin.

It's hard to find friendly and knowledgeable alternation establishments in Chinatown. I took a brand name shirt here for repair. I couldn't believe it was done nicely. Highly recommended.

I found this tailor on google and wanted to come see her pricing. I had previously gone to a tailor in the Heights that charged me over $200 for two formal dresses (adding cups, altering the waist). I wanted to find a place that could do quality work for a lower price. I am so, so happy I found Mrs. Xiu. She is fantastic and her prices really can’t be beat. I first asked her to alter a formal gown (adding cups and altering the bust and shortening straps). She only charged me $15!!!! She was also able to turn the dress around in two days!! I told her I didn’t need it for two weeks and she said that was way too long. Her work is also very high quality. She placed the cups I requested WITHIN the fabric of the dress so they wouldn’t be visible. I can’t believe that she only charged me $15 for this high level of attention to detail. I brought more clothes back immediately and will be coming back for all my tailoring needs. Also, this place was a bit hard for me to find but it’s above tofu village on the second floor. Note - She only speaks Chinese (mandarin and Cantonese) so you may need a translator if you don’t speak Chinese. I also recommend using cash :) but I think she also takes card.

I went to Xiu for simple hemming after I read the reviews. She is good and fast, however I find her price keeps going up as I become a regular customer. The price went from $12 to $25 to $30 (for shortening a one layer dress). In Houston, $30 for hemming a simple dress is still within acceptable price range, I just don’t like how unfairly I was treated as a regular customer. So beware!

Amazing!!! I couldn't communicate, but my husband spoke little bit of Mandarin. We brought the dress on Sunday and she finished taking in my daughter's formal dress same day. Fast, efficient, and amazing quality work at an incredible price for the skill. We will be bringing all our alterations as well as referring friends and family. We're so glad we found her!
