Bún Bò Huế An Nam

I used to love their pork cake in the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) when dine in. That’s why I bought 6 of their pork cake rolls home. I was shocked & surprised when seeing the wrapping of these rolls. ***Aluminium foil was wrapping the outside, then plastic bag, & then a thin layer of banana leaves. This combination is so dangerous when steaming at high heat. How can they use plastic bag to cook at high heat? These plastic bags are not designed to cook at high heat; that’s why all the plastic residues got into the pork cake part. It was hard for me to take it off. I won’t come back here anymore since they neglected the health being of their customers.

This review isn't about the food itself, it's about the quality of service. Our group of six adults and two kids ordered seven bowls of Bún Bò and seven drinks. We made two simple requests: have the bean sprouts briefly blanched in hot water, and serve less bún in each bowl. The server denied the noodle request, saying they couldn't pass it along to the kitchen. When the bean sprouts arrived, they were completely cold, not blanched at all. On top of that, the Bún Bò itself wasn't hot enough when it came to our table. Because we were a large party, an automatic gratuity was added to our bill. I understand that's common at many restaurants, but an automatic tip should come with a standard of service to match. That wasn't the case here. Our requests were ignored, the food wasn't served at the right temperature, and no one seemed concerned about making it right. The Bún Bò itself is decent, I won't take that away from them. But good food loses its appeal quickly when you're left feeling like your table doesn't matter. We came to enjoy a meal together and left disappointed.

RUDE WAITRESS! DO NOT COME IN if you see this woman! GO TO BÚN BÒ HUẾ SÔNG HƯƠNG My family and I have been here a few times but this time we received the service from this woman (wearing blue in the photo) and it was beyond awful. For some reason she treated us like garbage but she was kind and friendly to other customers. Maybe because we looked like Vietnamese but we didn't speak good Vietnamese (we are Asian Americans) and that made it hard for her to communicate. May be she didn't like the way our faces are. She looked at us with hatred the moment we walked in. We don't know why but she just glanced at us, had the food handed to us and never said a word even though we were nice to her and thanked her many times. When we paid and left a generous tip, she didn't even say "thank you". She just slammed the bill into our face. Super rude!This interaction pissed me off the most. Not even a reply, a "thanks for the tip"! The food was average and could use some salt/fish sauce. I recommend eating at BÚN BÒ HUẾ SÔNG HƯƠNG across the street, at 929 Story Rd. Their food is better and they have good service over there. This woman needs to be fired!

We ordered #1 and #7. Took less than 5 mins to get our food. The taste is average, not too bad, not very good. Be aware they only take cash or debit card, and they don’t have the notice anywhere, which is annoying. Their restroom is good though🙂

Got a large #5. Plenty of noodles and plenty of meat. Pho broth tasted good. Highly recommended in the area.
