Café Du Monde Riverwalk

Finally made it to Café du Monde, and it was worth the wait! We had so much fun sitting outside, enjoying our beignets while a performer on the sidewalk entertained us. The beignets did not disappoint—they’re always so much better fresh! A little heads-up: they were cash only when we visited, but they had ATMs on-site if you needed cash. I wish more cash-only businesses offered that convenience! They also let us know before we ordered, and it was posted at the bottom of the sign. Such a fun New Orleans experience!

Must visit cafe when in New Orleans. This Cafe was founded in 1862 and is famous for chicory coffee and powdered sugar coated Beignets. Beignets are basically donuts square in shape and freshly baked coated with powder sugar. Don't wear black dress as sugar fly when you eat. They have few location but one in french market is originally started. Musicians play out side cafe. Lots of seating place indoors and outdoor. One can see powder machine at back side of cafe though they have blinded donuts machine. This is cash only cafe. No credit card no debit card accepted.

Beignets came in orders of 3 and were tasty and fresh, thicker and doughier than I'd imagined. Don't wear dark clothes if you're messy with powdered sugar like me. 🤣 The frozen cafe au lait was strong and tasted exactly like what I expect of their famous chicory coffee. However, the hot mocha coffee was incredibly watered down and undrinkable. Worth a visit but stick to the coffee basics. It's inside a mall so not super atmospheric but there is a view of the Mississippi river and you can take your coffee and shop in an air conditioned environment. If staying at the Hilton you can get there without every having to go outside and roast in the sun. 🥵🤣
