I had an excellent experience at Certified Japanese, located at 20771 Bake Pkwy in Lake Forest. Mr. Carlos worked on my Ford C-Max and did a fantastic job. They replaced the tie rods, performed brake adjustments, and checked several other components to make sure everything was running properly. From the moment I arrived, the service was professional and honest. Mr. Carlos explained what the car needed, why it was important, and didn’t try to upsell unnecessary repairs. After the work was completed, my car drives noticeably smoother, the steering feels precise, and the braking response improved a lot. You can really feel the difference in safety and performance. It’s not easy to find a shop you can truly trust, but this place delivers quality work and great customer service. After a stressful experience at Honda where I was told my car was unsafe to drive and quoted an extremely high repair cost Eddie completely turned my situation around. He made me feel reassured that my vehicle was safe to drive until I could get the part ordered and fixed. From the moment I walked in Eddie was honest, calm and reassuring. He scheduled an inspection for my car and explained everything clearly and confirmed that my car was safe to drive which immediately put me at ease. The level of integrity and transparency he showed is something you don’t see often in auto repair. Especially as a woman you hear about the opposite. Not only did Eddie give me a fair and reasonable price but the work was completed quickly and professionally. What Honda quoted as a 35 hour job and thousands of dollars, Eddie and his team handled in just a few hours for a fraction of the cost. The difference in service was night and day. This is the second time I've taken my 2001 Toyota 4Runner to Certified Japanese Auto Repair. I had some worsening fluid leaks so I made an an appointment over the phone and arrived at the shop about 20 minutes early. After checking my car in with Eddie, it was on the rack receiving attention within 5 minutes. Eddie called me within an hour and a half with his diagnosis: I needed numerous seals, gaskets, a timing belt, water pump, and at 162,000 miles, it was past time for a new radiator and hoses. It needed a lot more work than I was expecting but it was all necessary. I approved the work and agreed to the price estimate. Eddie called the next morning to say the work was done. It was a big job, completed in a very short time, and the truck runs beautifully. Kudos to Eddie and his skilled, professional crew for a flawless experience! I Highly recommend them.

Seriously the best, most honest mechanic I have ever met. The only reason I am reluctant to leave a review is I don’t want other people going to MY mechanic and taking up capacity. Eddie will take care of you. They have turned me away for work I thought I needed but didn’t, what else needs to be said.

Eddie was highly recommended to me by a friend, and I was so grateful he could schedule me as a new client when I had an ongoing CEL/sensor issue with my 5.0 Mustang — my local shop even turned me away due to the complexity.
