Cheng Hung Chuan MD

This experience is a case study in customer service that every employer can learn from. At 78 years old, as a retired Trans World Airlines Computer Systems Analyst and former owner of Continental Van and Truck Rental, I have hired and trained hundreds of employees throughout my career. I know first-hand what constitutes quality service. ​ My Experience with Dr. Hung-Chuan Cheng's Office from Jan 16 - Feb 2, 2026 ​ Unfortunately, the receptionists at this office made it extremely difficult to schedule an appointment. On January 16th, I sent a photocopy of my insurance ID card and proof of eligibility via email. On January 23rd, I finally secured an appointment for February 4th. However, on January 27th, Evelyn canceled my confirmed appointment, citing that my insurance’s effective date was February 1, 2026. I must wait until Feb 1, 2026, to make an appointment. While she may have been following policy, her lack of empathy toward a new patient was concerning. I doubt Dr. Cheng is aware that this type of employee behavior can harm the practice. ​ On February 2nd, I called to make an appointment. Evelyn answered, spoke briefly to me, and immediately hung up. I called back several times but was repeatedly disconnected. After about 30 minutes, another woman finally answered. She asked for my date of birth in a harsh tone and told me my name did not appear in their records. I contacted my insurance company, which confirmed that Dr. Hung-Chuan Cheng is my PCP. They attempted to call Dr. Cheng’s office four or five times, but received no answer. Such unprofessional and dismissive behavior from staff, misusing their authority, can quickly undermine the reputation and hard work of a dedicated physician like Dr. Cheng. Dr. Cheng is a good physician, but he failed in managing the employees. ​

My mom 85 years old. We try many family physician unhappy. After Switch to Dr Chuan we no longer waiting appointments feeling he was very kind and caring all patients. His front desk receptionist truly helped Us insurance check and happy answer all questions we may have and phone call schedule appointment. Dr Chiang spends a lot of time (more than other offices)asked and Explained details to seniors be sure my mom heard and understand. Highly Recommended Dr Chuan medical team to everyone!!!!! Thank you doctor Chuan!!!!!!

My experiences with Dr Hung-Chuan Cheng has been an extremely good one. I first got referred to Dr Cheng when I was sick after a trip I had gone on overseas and lost my grandmother years ago. I am a nurse myself and am super picky about who my physicians are. Dr Cheng has very good listening skills, he is very careful and I never feel rushed. The staff are always very professional and nice. My appointments are always on time. I am so impressed how they make me feel better on my sickest days. I definitely want to thank Dr. Cheng and his staff for all the great work they have done over the years. I never leave a Yelp review but I think this one is important because during this Covid/Flu, I know it’s been difficult for a lot of people. I have been sick myself and am so grateful in times like these that I have a good doctor that I can trust. I would highly recommend!!

The receptionist is terrible. Not helpful what so ever. Today we were waiting for the doctors office to send in a code to the pharmacy for the insurance to cover a prescription. I spoke to the receptionist who said she would call and send in the needed code but never did. We waited at the pharmacy for over 2 hours waiting for them to send it and they never did. They stopped answering our calls and now they’re closed for the day. Terrible customer service. They clearly don’t care about the patients.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cheng's for 10+ years I appreciate how he and his staff respect my time and make it easy to get in and get out when visiting. I have never had a bad experience with my Dr. or any of the ladies that work with him. Seeing a 1 star review is shocking to me as I know this Dr's office and they do not deserve a 1 star.
