We brought cash and our documents, which made the process smooth. Interestingly, once we paid for our main services, they gave us the extra forms we needed at no extra cost. I’d recommend reaching out to Vietnamese embassy ở washington to process your paperwork because people at Houston will charge x4 extra on fee with cash. They know you need it asap so they set the price high as the kite and im not sure how they even get away with it and not sure how its even legal to do so. But yeah it might take more time to get your paper done by reaching out to the more honest ‘embassy’ rather than throwing your money out the window for such minuscule process. They charged me $90 to legalize my apostille and $100 for affidavit of single status lol. I asked for the receipt and this is what they gave me

Location changed from the previous photos on here. New location on 3rd floor is smaller and long wait. They only serve one customer at a time. Please bring cash and lot of them. Several people has to leave the building and find an ATM. Besides that the front office staff was quite helpful. The security guard didn’t do much. Kept the atmosphere quiet. Remember to bring cash. Calling them in advance didn’t help.

Great experience, great customer service, they offer same day all comprehensive service including photo taken, filling out the form, and issue Vietnamese passport within 45 mins with cash payment. BUT please educate the security guy, who kept turning down on customer and gave fall information. And people ended up leaving without knowing you DONT have to fill out the form and print it out ahead of time. He told me I must fill out the form, print it before coming in. But then told me to sit and wait (confusing). When I got to the counter. They Vietnamese lady was very nice, stated she will do all the documents and in and out within 45 mins, I even payed for passport photos (don’t pay for passport photo a head of time). Their comprehensive package will take care of you from start to finish. Do Not listen to the security, make sure to insist to wait to speak with consulate personnel. And just wait. Great experience, except rude security guy, who doesn’t know anything about paper works and keep turning down and intimidate customers.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with the Vietnamese Consulate in Houston. My documents were delivered on November 8. When I called a week later, I was told they had received them and that processing would take approximately two weeks. After nearly a month with no tracking update, I called again and was told conflicting information: first that my paperwork was no longer there, then that it had been “dropped off,” and finally that it had been left in a basement/mail area and that their responsibility ended at that point. At no time was I proactively contacted about delays, issues, or missing information. Communication was inconsistent, unclear, and at times dismissive. Each phone call resulted in a different explanation. This type of process is unacceptable for time-sensitive legal documents involving marriage and immigration planning. Applicants depend on accurate information and basic accountability. I understand consulates are busy, but professionalism, consistency, and clear communication are not optional — especially when people are paying fees and planning international travel around these timelines. I strongly recommend that anyone using this office build in significant buffer time and be prepared to follow up repeatedly, as there appears to be no reliable tracking or communication process once documents are submitted. The lack of transparency and accountability at this office is deeply concerning. Being told multiple, contradictory stories about the same set of documents over several phone calls reflects serious internal process issues. For an office handling legal documents, this level of disorganization is unacceptable.
